price of happiness

I am really curious as to how much you are willing to spend on a figure- specifically a nendoroid
the fate and k-on nendoroids are pretty much sold out
-how much more would you be willing to pay?
-Mio retails for around 3000 but would you still buy it for 5000 or 6000 yen?
then there are the WF and exclusive ones o 0
i regret not getting nendo yuki when i had the chance, sigh
btw- i used the fate pic because she is my latest pre-order and she is too kawaii lol

at Amazon, they are selling regular nendoroid miku hatsune for as much as hundred dollars.
E-bay is joo friend?
Longer you leave it, the more you will pay. I've payed about double the origional price on some over E-bay myself (quite happily).

Knock your self out, Fate is still available for pre-orders.
otacute is pretty cheap
Thats a good reason to use them, but the real bonus is that they get their hands on the really speacial stuff. Search for Nendo's and take a carefull look you'll notice a few really "special" ones.
Whoo! Thanks for the heads up, just preordered mine from HLJ!
My pleasure!
For something I really wanted and especially if it was limited and only likely to increase in value, then I'd probably pay more for it. I wouldn't normally for a sold-out regular release, though.
It really depends if i wanted it or not, but more than likely i'll find a good deal for it.
For limited/exclusives, sure, I wouldn't mind paying a little bit more. And perhaps some of the rarer standard-release nendos, but they're not the main focus of my collection so I try not to overspend on them too much. I'm more prone to overspend on scaled PVC figures as opposed to nendos or figmas.
Will noy pay more than the actual price... Unless it's exclusive...
*Not
Like in the case of Ojou... My local store have her for RM 250 when she's only RM 160 / less!
I find nendoroids very cute, but they are a really small part of my collection.
I think the current MSRP of about 3,500 yen is good. A significantly higher retail price (say, 5,000 yen) would be difficult to stomach. That would be moving into the lower limit of PVC figures.
No more than 40 USD (already included S&H) for Nendoroid and Figma (even for rare one). If it Limited/exclusive, I willing to add another 10 buck, no more.
For example, when Ojou was sold out everywhere, ebay is full of auction sharks, I keep myself in patient and a tiny drop of refreshing dew that we call it otacute had come to the rescue. Got Ojou for around 32 USD
Another example is, Nendoroid Hatsune Miku. Just the same case like Ojou, but I keep patient and got her into my possession for 38 USD from local seller.
You also have to factor in a few other factors like countries where figures are much the exception and far from the norm. This being the case what little makes it out to many countries, such as my own, is both over priced and disgustingly mainstream.
The majority of Nendo's are far from main stream imo so many peoples only options are e-bay and exporters like HLJ and crew. If a little extra money is the difference between having something I really want and not then I'd rather buy two figures for the price of three.
I'm not sure how much cost online shopping adds in the case of Australia. In Singapore, however, with the ease, convenience and competitive pricing of online stores, I don't feel the need for brick-n-mortar stores at all.
For instance, Alter Yagyu Jubei has a MSRP of 7,800 yen, but retails for 7,410 yen in HobbySearch and 6,280 yen in AmiAmi. I saw her in a local shop yesterday for the equivalent of 8,148 yen. One could say that EMS shipping would add a significant amount to the cost of shopping with the online retailers. However, if I add a few figures in the shipping (which is quite the norm), the average shipping cost would be much lowered.
I spent 11,000 yen + shipping on Racing Queen Miku and I had to tear myself in half before I made that decision. I knew I'd be kicking myself forever if I didn't get her though. Proxy prices for Japanese/event exclusives make me cry. Her MSRP was 7,000 yen. T_T
I'd have to agree that the 3,000-4,000 yen range is fine for me; 5,000-6,000 yen would be a little much. Though I paid about $80 for nendo Reimu through a proxy service and am somewhat satisfied with that ^^; so I suppose it depends on who the nendo is in regards to how much I'm willing to pay...
I wouldn't pay more than double. Unless it was a character I NEEDED, but I probably would have preordered in that case.
I really want the figma Nanoha school uniform version, the one that's exclusive with the PSP game? But it would cost over £100 to get the game, with shipping & customs charges, which is simply too much for a figma :(
I bought Nendoroid Yui for $422.
Huh? I thought nendoroid Yui isn't released yet. How did the price go up so high?
The rare nendoroid Yui with yellow hair that came with the DVD's.
