Ive seen lots of rooms and posts of people's loots, and I cant help but wonder, how often, and how much do you buy what you collect ? Whether they be gundam models, figures, nendos, dolfies, dvd's, manga, etc. Also, how long did it take your collection to get where it is now ?

As for myself, I usually by things every two weeks (when I get paid). It took me about 9 years for my collection to get where it is now. Which is pretty much when I started collecting. Right now, my bank account took a huge hit so I wont be able to buy any new loots or figures till march :[ The last things I bought where my MG unicorn, and my ps3 Lightning edition which still has yet to come in the mail.

So, how about you ? Oh and sorry I dont have a picture that relates to this kind of thread so I posted one of Rei (my favorite character) instead :] Its also my current desktop wallpaper.

Pretty much give or take 2 - 4 figures a month. Depending on the delays if there is any.

Been collecting little more then a year if you count where I got my first figure ( Saber Lily figma ) But really started buying end of January +/- 2009 which I have spent quite some money. This is also why this year is so insane expensive for me.

Yea figures get pricey once they add up. After only buying 3 nendos in one "get" I spent over 100 bucks.

mmm, I buy things on the fly... Sometimes, I don't buy anything in a month, and sometimes I buy stuff periodically... So glad my part time can sponsor my hobby... Although when I go back to school, I may not be able to do these things... T_T

Depends really, my collection isn't very big at the moment. Usually, I might get one figure or a manga / DVD at any given time. Suffice it to say, being out of work at the moment isn't really helping my case.

I don't buy often. I just buy when I see something that catches my eye. Although, I'm tempted to buy something everyday, I am a bit more reserved with my spending. And kinda selective. I need to get a job soon.

Hmmz, I buy figs only every 2-3 months, and then only 1 at a time. About the same for games. Whish it could be more, but my wallet isn't that big.

My collecting spree has gone down tremendously for the past 3 months. I used to buy 4 models and at least 2 figures a week. Games are easier to come by since I buy certain games I want from customers before they trade into my store. I got assassin's creed 2 for only 30 bucks. But if its a game I really want, (Bayonetta) I actually buy it new.

I started collecting 2 years ago... Usually about 2 Scaled Figs for 3-4 Months.
But with the release schedule pulled back for ALTER and GSC, its really hard to gauge...

The bulk of my collection is actually in 5 boxes right now. Reason being, I used to sleep in my garage (turned shag pad) but moved to a new house where I have to stay in a room. I hardly have any space as it is.

Well, personally, about once or twice a month. This being mainly Figmas and Robot Damashiis. I don't buy completed PVCs that much anymore unless it's of a special character that I like a lot.

I only buy if I can afford it and if its something I really like, I bought a lot this year cos it was my first year I've been collecting so I got alot of figures that were back log so to speak, at mo I only have a few on pre-order that I want. I try to weigh up how much I want the figure and will I really use it alot, at the moment I have 22 articulated figures, and well space maybe a problem in the future, may have to get some storage device, so I can rotate displaying figures! oh and I only by articulated, still PVC are nice but too pricey to collect

I've been actively collection since 2004. I usually buy things at a local shop once a month (when I get paid). I place online orders when I see something that looks interesting. As for what I collect. Well mostly manga, artbooks and a few DVDs, CDs and figures. I also collect dakimakura covers and bath towels. I only buy dakimakura covers I really like and this means I usually get those that are available on auction after a Comik Market or a DreamParty. I currently have about 14 dakimakura covers iirc and 5 large bath towels. I also buy bed sheets and cushion cases but on a less regular basis.

I usually get 8-25 figures a month and it highly depends on the delays. I usually spend about $400-1000 a month. Usually closer to the $400 amount. I preorder 99.5% of everything and rarely buy on the fly now unless it is something I've been looking for for a while and it's at a good price.

I've tripled my figure collection in the last 2 years but I've been collecting for 12 years. Although the first 9 years was about 5 figures a year and 10 DVDs/Manga a month XD (not many good figures were coming out back then anyway). I buy far less DVDs now and have stopped buying manga entirely because shipping it to Japan in a few months will be way to expensive.

I tend to get scaled figures, nendos, magazines, posters, and figmas. I have a few trading figures but in general I try to stay away from them.

Ehhhh...well I have figures every month. Recently, it's over 6 a month. Mostly preorders (have a nice updated list on HS) and occasionally a few unplanned ones. Alter and Good Smile are my two mainstays for scaled figures and nendoroids. Will get an occasional Kotobukiya and have a few Wave's (and a Gift of Yoko). Also get a fair amount of figma's. Get the occasional tapestry or other random anime related good (recently some Holo (Horo) scrolls and her plush ^^ and the Umineko no Naku Koro Ni sound novel, plus some Good Smile Nanoha device charms, among other things). Have a few magazines on subscription order from Japan as well.

DVD's and manga I also get each month, but I don't keep track of how many (alot of those).

Basically, I eat, pay rent and utilities and gas for my car, and the rest of my paycheck is anime related. Yeah.

One to six HGs during every visit to the local Gunpla seller, which would be a couple hours' drive there and back, maybe once every eight-to-ten months.
I'm really quite short on spending money. Most of it's going to the funds for whatever school I go to.

For me it really depends one when things are released. I usually visit my local shop once or twice a month depending on when the receive models and spend around 200-500 dollars at that time. I used to collect figures which added to the above model spending, so at that time around 800 dollars maybe, but I stopped collecting figures and went to dollfies. Dollfies spending depends on when lotteries occur or if I get a chance to travel to HK or Japan to shop around and those times I spend an additional 500-1,000...but in terms of that it's like 6 months to a year. Finally, DVDs I pick up during the summer season at conventions, mostly Fanime and AnimeExpo...and that ranges on the DVDs I am looking for.

I try to be focused with my collecting especially considering I'm pretty late to the party for some of the styles I like. So I generally stay clear of PvC's unless exceptional (in my eyes like some of the Witchblade ones) and I collect all the Figma Nanoha releases including any packed with games like the rarest / most expensive young nanoha LE one coming in December.

The primary focus for me though has been Nendo's of which I buy at least 7 per month. I have 40 so far.

I buy (or pre-order) when there are things I want. I'm relatively discerning with what I buy, so while this system might lead to a constant stream of figures (and bankruptcy) for some people, it works out well for me. Sometimes it means nothing for a few months, sometimes that means a whole bunch of figures come all at once. In future it might mean nothing for years! (...but probably not.)

I usually drop into my local store on Fridays. Usually I will buy whatever new anime is in, or pick up a box set of an anime I passed on previously. Most times I'll escape from the store having spent less than a $100.00 CDN, but $130.00 is not unusual. Some weeks I don't get anything if nothing of interest comes in.

Today was an exception. $268.00 CDN. Why? 4 x Di:stages came in ($12.99), and GSC Saber Lily ($165.00) had shown up in the store. I think it was on shelf for all of 20 min before I showed up. The girl who works there said they had pre-ordered it months ago and they only just got the one, so I POUNCED!!!! :)
Also picked up a little Domo-kun ($9.00) And don't forget 14% tax on top of everything! :(

I'm more cautious on my figure spending lately, pre-ordering only figures I really want. I used to buy more often, but space constraints have made new additions in the display cabinets tricky. I'm not a fan of packing figures in the cabinet like sardines, nor am I a fan of keeping figures in the boxes and stacking them atop one another.

I think it really depends on what is being released or what figures released back you missed. I have pretty much followed up on my figure collecting, being able to get most of the figures I wanted from the previous years.

Now all thats left are new preorders, on my list right now are nendo canaan will be my 2nd and last nendo since I'm not too fond of them, Orchid Seed's Lineage II Elf and Corticarte - really hoping these two turns out really well since I've heard that some of Orchid's actual products are really not as impressive as their prototypes, and also some daki's.

I spent the most last November with the amount reaching to 8k yen. Usually I buy one Model kit per month. Or buy more if it looks good. Im a gundam fan so thats all i buy. For mangas and anime I usually read and watch them via Internet(since they are hard to find in my place). I also started collecting September this year and now I currently have 4 finished Gundams and 2 more still in the process..

Now Im thinking of buying Nendos... Yagami Light, Hatsune Miku, and the K-on girls... problem is... those are expensive... about 2k yen each...

I've been into this since three years more or less and at the beginning I bought a lot but then I realized that I should think carefully what to buy and what not, I'm not rich and I like a lot of things, so, better get what I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally want and not everything, specially, if I don't have enough money for it.

1 - 3 figures per month. Depends of how expensive the things are. I try to cap myself at $100.

    If I were to visit like Japan Town or a convention then it's a special occasion and I spend like $150 in 1 day. ^ ^;
