MacBook Pro

I am now a proud owner of a MacBook Pro. Its a 15inch model with a 2.66 ghz processor and the rest of it. Took a lot of saving up to get it. Now I just have to save up £4000-6000 so I can spend my 3rd year of university at NTU in Singapore!!!

If you're going to do that...why don't you just buy a Windows machine for 1/2 the price? Unless the Mac look is an absolute necessity.

Yah, with more power and stuff like HDMI. And there are Windows machines which look just like a Mac out there: http://bit.ly/7ckcPc
Unfortunately the copied the glossy crap display too.

Nice scoop. Hope you enjoy it!

I used to program on an Apple ][ plus, and ][ e, but now it would be near impossible to convince me to buy a Macbook, even if you gave me the money.
I do like the giant screen iMac's though but the O/S and Mac software looks inflexible compared to Windows. The restricted options and lack of shortcuts is just too irritating.
I'm sure some people disagree with me and I'm interested to hear your comments, so please reply. Thanks :)

I think the shortcuts are all there and everything. I used to think like this too, but after I picked up my MacBook, I've been using it daily and I've found the transition to be smooth and comfortable. I think it just takes getting used to.

There are always people who disagree when it comes to things like this. I just prefer having the best of both. I have Windows 7 on my PC and I think it is pretty good, almost as easy to use as the OS on Macs. i suppose it depends on what you are going to be using a computer for, e.g a gamer would most likely go for a Windows system, because lets face it Macs are not the best when it comes down to gaming.

Yeah it is pretty good. I was using the apple store to check my emails and stuff after uni for nearly all of first year. Decided to get one since I liked them so much. Will still keep my laptop though. Let my brothers use it and maybe use it myself from time to time.
