Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance - More thoughts (SPOILERS)

Yes, this is just another one of those posts. I must apologize beforehand for that, but one disadvantage of blogs over forums is that once any discussion "sinks" to the bottom due to "old age", it's harder to "necro" it because the topic and any new comments stays unnoticed at the bottom. So this means I gotta start a new one if I want my comments to be seen.
In order not to get too repetitive, I'm gonna refer to this excellent review being written by Actar about a week ago as well.

As it is, the movie only started showing here this week, so I managed to watch it with my friend just now.
Just four letters to describe the ending scene after the credits: OMFG!
The picture you see above is NOT A MERE MOVIE POSTER, but it's ACTUALLY THE DAMN MOVIE ENDING! When I saw what Kaoru did (and boy was his appearance awesome), that poster immediately made sense.
Second WTF was seeing Asuka alive and well in the preview, with awesome eyepatch.
Needless to say, there was thunderous applause after the movie ended. It was quite moving really, to see so many people enjoying it. Even my friend, who only had a casual knowledge of the Evangelion series shown ages ago, felt this was much better than the TV series.
Most of the other stuff is well covered by Actar's review, so there's no point in me adding anything else. Save that Shinji is more GAR, Rei is more assertive, and Asuka is less angsty, which overall made them even more likable.
PS LMAO at the PenPen shower scene being reused on Asuka (with straw on strategic positions this time). Probably Mari will be next, if Actar is correct.

Whoo, can't wait for this now! Waited an entire year for You Are (Not) Alone to reach the states, and it just came out a couple weeks ago finally! The English dub is amazing, and from what I've heard (trying not to spoil myself too much here), You Can (Not) Advance looks to make me fall in love with the series once again!
Indeed, this movie is one that deserves a lot of praise. It definitely lives up to the 'Bold Re-Imagining' that Anno had claimed that it would be.
Saw it again yesterday and just cannot get over the fact that 'Normal Blood', my favorite BGM form the original series, was used in such a spectacular fashion. Hearing it from the Cinema's Speakers was just pure ecstasy.
Thanks for linking to my review! (^o^)
