They pretty much buried the series by the second half of season 2. Unless it's a complete reboot, I'd rather hope that it's just a prank.
God, R2 was awful
While the second season definitely wasn't as good as the first in terms of plot development/character interaction. I didn't think it was 'awful'. Sure it could have done with a little tweaking, but still, I enjoyed the season very much as a whole.
Noting beats pure unadulterated Mecha-porn. The ending was exceedingly well done as well. Simply poetic.
Season 1 was well done and even R2 was prety good (even with that damn Rolo) for the first half but post time skip and Emperor Lelouche had me facepalming every episode at least once. The Ending could have been much worse but it felt more like makeing the best of a bad situation as opposed to a good ending.
The mecha also lost their charm by that point as well with all their upgrades. By that point it was like Gundam Seed Destiny!

Wudn't call it awful. Its by far not the worst anime I've seen. I enjoyed it even dispite what they did to my fave chara.

Though it might be a while before it's Dubbed. I really liked the English Dub.

I hope Clamp isn't pulling what I think they are. Let the story end. There's a big problem nowadays with people being unwilling to just kill a damn character and leave them dead. Code Geass was decent, but if they do this, I'm giving up on it completely.
I agree, the ending of R2 would lose so much impact if they brought Lelouch back. I'm all for more Code Geass - I'm REALLY all for more Code Geass - but it needs to be without Lelouch.

From what I read in a few other places, I would suspect a reboot of the series. Or an alternate telling (One of the alternate world books). We'll find out soon.
