My MG Astray Blue Frame

Posted by Falldog [www]

I thought I'd share some pictures of my MG Astray Blue Frame. Not my best work by. The lining really sucks and there are a lot of little smudges here and there. The silver I used on the hands needs a touch up, which I shows up far to well in the photos. :(

Otherwise, I really like the kit. Flight form reminded me how much I love kits with wings. For the decals I used the offerings from Samuel Decal and think they turned out really well. Since the silver decals turned out well I'm planning on using a similar set on my Titan MKII.

You can see more pictures on my flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mt_falldog/sets/72157622735636252/

If they release a MG Red Frame I'm definitely going to get one.

Actually it's the Second R (Revise), and not L (Lowe). Otherwise, the metallc blue looks great, but it seems off without some semi-gloss white and orange.

(Replying in general instead of to the couple of folks who have pointed it out because I think it'd be simpler this way)

Well, funny thing is, the entire thing received several coats of Testor's Dull Cote. The blue bits are duller than it originally started out as, but it wasn't heavy gloss to begin with. However my lighting set up wasn't as good for this shoot and most of my shots are over exposed, so it looks a lot more glossy than it really is.

Either way, I think a good mix of semigloss and dull can turn out really well. I did it with my Sinanju (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mt_falldog/sets/72157613119689602/ (first attempt, and there are improvements that could be made)) and think the premise has potential.

Yay metallic colors <3 I really love how MG Astray Blue frame has so many weapons ^0^ Your Astray looks really awesome contrasting the metallic blue to the other colors but to me it seems kinda off without a metallic orange for the shoulder parts and sword but that's just my opinion :P Nice work :D

wow, even for it not being your so called 'best' work it looks pretty amazing...the colours/line work are neat. this new version certainly looks more streamlined and a little 'under-weight' but I really like it...i'm glad i've not seen it/gone looking to buy it as i certainly would! (...reminds me, must finish the kit i started months ago! O_o )
