The Next Actsta
I'm guessing some of you guys have already seen this and I've been waiting for someone to post it, but no one bothered, so I'm here to bring the news anyway!
Four-pages fresh from Mikatan's Blog is the second figure of the ActSta line, pioneered by Subaru Nakajima. Coming from the same series StrikerS, Teana Lanster (ティアナ・ランスター, Tiana Ransutā) is following the footsteps of Subaru and is now entering the world of scaled articulated figures!
Wow, I can work as a walking advertisment now! XD
Cross Mirage is looking awesome, though the paint-job will define whether or not "awesome" really is the title to put beside it, and same goes for her face. The sculpt of the hair on the other hand looks stunning as it is. My only complain as of this prototype is that her bottom could use a bit more "wind-blow "sculpt to give her a sense of movement.
I missed Subaru since her price is pretty... harsh? But since Christmas is laying just around the corner (ignoring the fact that I'm failing History), I might just be able to gather all my Christmas dough from lots of people enough to get myself this Teana ActSta. I personally disliked StrikerS after reaching around 17 episodes (if I remember correctly) , but surely, Teana was the character in the silhouette while I was thinking "I wonder what ActStas to come would be worth getting?"

Actsta might very well beat figma in this phase or articulated figure quality! Subaru is amazing and is definitely one my want list!
Given that they're four times the price of a Figma, I'd be worried if they weren't higher quality!
Haha, that's a good point!
Also, the amount of PVC-sculpted parts are just AWESOME. I think what truly makes an articulated figure well-ranged is how the clothes don't affect the articulation, and how even the seemingly non-moveable parts can be moved around such as Subaru's bow for this example!

Of course! You couldn't have Subaru without Tiana, now could you? I'd rather save my cash for someone I *must* have *cough Miku cough cough*, but the Actsta line is looking quite good so far.

I think Tiana without Subaru is good enough for me because I'm not much of a StrikerS fan anyway... so I'm buying this because I like Tiana's character design and not because of the series. XD
These definitely on my want list but actsta are a bit pricey for me.
I much prefer non-articulated models and I already have Alter's Subaru and Teana so I won't get these unless I get rich.
"Pricey" surely is the word that can best describe it... but for a character I like (not because of the series but because of the character's physical details) I think I'd trade my Xmas earns for it!
I really wanted them to make Ginga, but Teana was my #2.

Geh. Figures of characters that everyone likes except myself. Wouldn't have minded getting them if they were Figmas, but woah... That price... I could get a pretty PVC or 4 Figmas for that.

I haven't been liking Figmas lately (my last Figmas were Drossel and Meiya, acquired at the same time from Japan) mostly because of how they end up looking when the buyers' reviews are up... I personally was very very excited and was looking forward to Aigis and Shamal... But after seeing how badly aligned their faces were, I suddenly lost my taste for Figmas...
I might made a Nendoroid convertion! XD I've been craving for a number of Nendos including Saber Lily, Priecia, Kureha, and Nanoha!
I hope they decide to make a figma Teana and Subaru since they have done so many of the others already (not to mention 3 versions of Nanoha and Fate). Even Caro and Erio would be welcome aditions to me.
The Actsta figures are well detailed and look good but the price is a huge barrier for me, and since figma got there first i'm not gonna start collecting a second range of the same type of articulated figure. Alter and figma versions are good enough for me ^^

I don't think they'd go StrikerS with Figma though, since the past MGLN Figmas were A's and the Movie... But it wouldn't hurt to have a non-scale Reinforce Zwei, right? XD
I also want Alter... (and to think Alter and ActStas have the same prices here in the Philippines) so now I'm not so sure anymore whether I'll get Alter Hayate, Alter Teana, or ActSta Teana....
Given what they are asking for these, I would have to say NOT a get. If these are four times the price of a Figma, then that would put them at about $176.00 CDN before tax (14%). My Saber Lily was $165.00, but that is an exceptional sculpt.
The MSRP (9800JPY) may be about four times the MSRP of some Figmas, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's the price you'll be paying. Amiami sells its ActSta Subarus for 7450JPY.
Hmm... here in the Philippines, ActStas are approximately 128 Canadian Dollars, while Figmas are approximately 35-46 Canadian Dollars (depending on character)... so I think following that ratio... You're right, not so cheap. =___=
165 Saber Lily?! Wow, that was a pretty nice get! Barely over-priced compared to how they go by now.
Yeah, but remember, we pay 14% tax here (in Ontario). So that $165.00 for Saber Lily is $188.10 to get it out the door.

Thats still about $74.50 US before shipping. Add in exchange rate and shipping, and it starts getting up around $100.00CDN (give or take). That still a bit steep, but I might get one if it was for a character I really wanted, but I wouldn't be making a collection of these like the Figma's. (and even those I'm only getting figures I like.)
ActStas might be too expensive to have as big of a collection of it as Figmas... That suicide. =___=
The price issue and the current non-availability of other figures from other series. Also, people like me who have the Nanoha group (Nanoha, Fate, Hayate, Signum, Shamal, and Vita); I think are quite depressed over that there are still no figmas of Teana and Subaru, just these scaled versions that don't fit with the figma line. Price is another point, all of the Nanoha figmas would cost less than both of the acasta figures. The relative scale of the figmas from each other from the same series is about correct, Vita is shorter than Nanoha and Signum is taller etc. The only thing left is quality, and figmas are good, but not as good as acasta, but it is to me not worth it.
Truly ActStas might probably not be worth, but I think this is a time when I should get what I want while ignoring the price (it's not every month that I get to just buy whatever I want)...
And yeah, Figma quality is good enough, but lately, I've been loosing my craving for Figma mainly because of how poorly their faces have been coming out...
After messing around a little more with my Actsta Subaru, I have to say, she is a bit more poseable than figmas, but I'm still having a very hard time removing her joints. Revoltechs (especially the Assemble Borg line) are still the most poseable, in my opinion....Figmas look better than Revoltechs, and Actstas are just Figmas on some kind of growth hormone, hehe.
Yeap, I've heard that Subaru's joints were somehow troublesome... And I must agree too, "ActStas and Figmas on some kind of growth hormone" but you must not leave out that they have better quality than Figmas and Revoltechs alike.
Also considering how GSC had been laying back on Figma Production of final products, I don't think Figmas are worth getting anymore despite their pretty low prices compared to other figures.

If they make characters I like I'll def collect them, until then, a boring series atm.

OH jeez, I won against my urge to buy Subaru but Teana. *phew* I think I'm going to buy them both now, when I have the money ha ha.
acsta is definitely can defeat figma :<
