Flights to Japan About to Become Cheaper!

Good news for anyone planning a trip to Japan from the United States.
"Japan and the United States have reached an "open skies" deal removing restrictions on flights, opening the way to lower fares across the Pacific and to shake up alliances among airlines. In one key point of contention, the United States said Japan agreed to give US carriers greater access to Tokyo's Narita and Haneda airports, gateways into Japan and lucrative Asian markets. Once this agreement takes effect, American and Japanese consumers, airlines and economies will enjoy the benefits of competitive pricing and more convenient service"

God, I hope this happens before my trip to Tokyo in April. Paid $700 round trip last year so I'm hoping to beat that price next time around.
Ah I wish the UK would do something like that. The cheapest I can find for when I want to go is (looks at exchange rates) $900!
Well Cool.. Cheapest I ever found over the Lake to japan was.. 1200 dollars for airfare from cleveland alone.. Owwies.
The trick is when you go. I travel during Golden Week and prices always seem to drop for that time period.
That's kind of odd since Golden Week is a popular time to travel in Japan. Of course, you would be going the opposite direction that most Japanese overseas travelers are ^^;
too bad i live in canada T_T
ditto...
Third... hopefully the Canadian government will adopt something like this.
