1/7 Alter Fate get!

I've noticed a couple of people receiving their 1/7 Alter Fate recently & earlier this week I was among those lucky few. I knew she was going to be expensive, but I hadn't figured quite how much - with the ¥7000 EMS shipping, £20 tax from customs & £13.50 clearance fee from the UK courier, her total price for me was a shocking £176.74 (that's US $287.36 or ¥25,659)!

After spending all that money I'm confronted with the problem that she is so big that I don't actually have anywhere to safely display her! So for now she is sleeping in her huge cardboard box :(

    I've had problems with customs taxes and clearance fees with my imports as well :(. It cost me over £20 in extra charges for a £15 figure. Needless to say, I was a little annoyed about it all

      I wasn't so bothered about the clearance fee this time, because she was quite expensive to begin with, but last week I got a £30 figure where that £13.50 was quite a substantial amount & which turned a cheap impulse buy into a £55 investment!

    I also had problems with customs and tax charges, it cost me £70 ($113, ¥10 138) in tax to free my dollfie! not including the other charges!

    Wow, huge box. Financially she seems to pack the same wallop as Hayate did...lame customs and fees; still whish I could've gotten her though ^^;

    And I'm sure you'll find a place to put her.

    Same here, got charged with additional taxes for Fate. Luckily she's an amazing figure! ^^

    If you display her with the two short Riot Zamber swords, you should be able to win some space.

      I actually much prefer her with the Riot Zamber swords & never really planned to display her with the larger Zamber sword except for some photos. But even with the 'smaller' swords she won't fit into an Ikea Detolf so I'm still hunting for some sort of case to put her in, as I want to keep the dust off her without having to dust her with a paintbrush every few days. Maybe I should buy some perspex & practise making my own display cases...

    That's bad, I hope you find a place for her soon. It would be a waste to have her in the box.

    The shipping cost was shocking for me as well. But still, it's worth it! I have mine put on a chest of drawers provisionally, until I make a space for her somewhere else.

    I'm going to post my photos tonight or tomorrow. Some turned out really well, so look forward to it ^^

    I was actually thinking of clearing some space on my chest-of-drawers & then putting a perspex case over the top, but I haven't had any luck finding a source for such a thing at a sensible price.

    I'll probably end up stealing some of your photograph ideas when I finally get around to taking some of my own, I've got the camera & the lenses but need a lot more practise getting good angles!

      I was considering a perspex case too!

    I paid a lot less for her since I bought her from a US based store. I actually got lucky because I wasn't planning on getting her due to her large shipping price. I actually canceled my order with HLJ. One day I was just randomly surfing a few stores and found one that had her in stock. I'll be getting her this week. Honestly, I'm surprised the store had her in stock because most US based stores get their stock a month or two later.

    If I had the dolfie she would sit in the seat beside me and sleep in my bed, drive in the car, no case for her; like my human daughters, would be part of the family.
