My Guren Seiten Review
Mon 2009/12/14 19:22 JST

So I decided to start doing some video reviews of the many different anime figures that I have and I decided to start off with the Guren Seiten Eight Elements from Damashii's Robot Spirits Line.
Anyways tell me what you think about it and if I should change anything in my future reviews. Oh and if I start to talk fast you can blame youtube and the 10 minute video limit they have and this video had to be cut down from 14 from the first time I made it down to 10mins:/

Now you know my pain... I am in the process of completing my review and it will be up by tonight. (^o^)
Haha yea I sure do. It is a bit of a pain but I actually enjoyed making it at the same time and I can't wait to see your review of the Guren Seiten. Oh by the way did you order the ShenHu? I should be getting mine on Tuesday in the mail but I'm debating if I should review that or my Miku Live stage version next.
Both :P
Yea I definitely will do both but I'll probably start off with the Miku first since I just finished a mecha review and then review the ShenHu shortly after:).
Just saw your review and have to say that many aspects seem to be 'inspired' from my video reviews. From the name, intro slideshow, the figures in the background to the style of the review and more. Inspiration is fine, but the similarities are uncanny.
Don't get me wrong. I'm flattered and honored that you are doing video reviews based on mine. To give constructive criticism, take your own unique spin on things. Make something that is different from mine that will differentiate your style from mine.
Also, to diversify, you can go into other areas of figure reviews that hasn't been touched before. That's how I started my reviews. No one was reviewing Digimon figures, Figmas or Code Geass figures, so I started reviewing them.
Just some advice as a fellow video reviewer.
Great review though. (^.^)
Haha yea your video's have definitely have inspired a lot of aspects throughout my first video and maybe as I continue on with my reviews and become more experience with it I'll be able come with something that separates my reviews and makes them more unique your reviews as well as others out there. Which I do have a few ideas I might try out for my next one.
I do agree with you on being more diverse but Anime figures and Transformers are what I have been collecting for 5-6years and I noticed that there were so many transformers reviewers on youtube I figured they have section covered enough for reviews and I noticed that there hasn't been another dedicated anime figure reviewer out there besides you and realized "hey" Actar is the only real dedicated anime figure reviewer that I've seen in the past years. I came up with the conclusion that Actar is only one man trying to review wide variety of figures out there and he can use some help on reviewing this wide selection of figures that are out today because I know it can be pretty costly as well as time consuming and I may have or picked up figures that you don't have or have gotten a chance to review yet. So I decided to start my own reviews of these figures to help give lending hand to the anime figure collecting community on deciding whether or not to buy a figure without trying to review the same figure that has been done before and if I end up reviewing the same thing at least they have multiple views on that figure to help them decide faster if they should buy it or not.
So I definitely appreciate the advice you gave me and I didn't expect to actually get advice from one of the most well known Anime figure reviewers out there and maybe I should start calling you sempai LolXD. But yeah I really do appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to give me advice.
Thanks for being so understanding. I hope I didn't discourage you in any way and I would love to see more of your reviews in the future! (^o^)
Oh no I didn't get discourage at all:). I wanted to work on my next video which is going to be on the Hatsune Miku Live Stage Vers. but I had to get back to studying for my exams this week and I have my last exam today and I will be on break after that one and I'll able to work on them again again:D.
just being noisy here :D
to all code geass fan, or at least hakyoushiki fan, any idea where guren hakyoushiki store its knife?
the older series stores it near the thigh, and wearing a belt that hold knife sheath, but what about this 1?
You know I really don't know where it would stored it because like you said the last one you can store it on the belt but this one hmmmm idk but as for now it is stored in the box I got it in:P.
i've watched the episode 18 of R2 again
apparently, it stored it in its ass, or its HUGE humpback design, but the sheath is still absence though
must have been stored in its internal sheath
I've been a bit hesitant about the Guren SEITEN. Partially because I favor the Lancelot (:P), but I still think it might be worth adding to my collection.
It's definitely worth adding to any collection whether your a mecha fan, a collector, or just like code geass fan. But if you need more convincing you should check out Actar's review of this he just finished it and he is more experienced than me in making video reviews so he may definitely help make up your mind on it:).

Actually I just watched his review a few minutes ago; and now I'm sold. Although it may be awhile before I can get it.
