Help send Miku to Venus

Greetings,
Recently I came across this project that I thought some people here would find interesting. Basically if 10,000 people sign this online petition then one of the aluminum balancing plates that will be attached to a Japanese Venus explorer spacecraft will be reserved for an image of Hatsune Miku. Currently, as of 2009/12/16, there are about 4,000 signatures.
You can also sign up to have your name and a brief message put on one of the plates as well, although you won't be able to attach any pictures.

But, I think I also want her to have a look at the vast galaxy herself, might meet a new friend there ^_^

I'm almost more interested in whether or not grassroots goodness can scrape up that many people. XD Well, I put mine in for the hell of it.
They're at 5,500 signatures as of 2009/12/17 12:00JST so there's a pretty good chance still.

For the sake of mankind, I've decided to abstain from putting Miku on an explorer spacecraft. Aliens might chance upon it and get the wrong idea about our race. It's kinda like in the movie "Contact" when aliens received Hitler's 1936 Olympic Games speech that was transmitted to space.
Just kidding. Hope Miku makes her way safely to Venus.

If she does get send out then I can think of Miku each time I look at Venus. ^ ^
