Woke up, went to work, browsed the internet, found this.
It looks like we're getting Figma's from Ga-Rei Zero!

I agree with you. A rather boring Figma choice IMO.
Because you never watch the shows. Basing one's opinion of a character just on their appearance is just too shallow in my opinion. The story and characters of Ga-Rei Zero is simply epic.
Seriously, how can one judge just based on appearances?
An Anime is a visual medium that is used to convey enthralling stories with fantastic characters. When people watch Anime, we usually watch for the story or entertainment value. By your definitions, everything nowadays can be considered as a cliche. But looking at the characters as people instead of idols/works of art, we can see where their true value and uniqueness.
I have nothing against you guys buying figures just based on appearances, just know that beauty is hardly skin deep, or in this case, PVC deep, and there is much more to a character than just looks.

I understand where you're getting at, but seriously, how many school girls do we need? I'd like to see Max Factory do more characters with different outfits from other great anime. But I guess they'll do what makes the most, and moe sells.
Well, I don't think that they went into Ga-Rei Zero just because it's moe or because sells. The show is very well written and evokes a whole host of powerful emotions. It was rated one of the top 5 anime of 2008 by 2chan.
Also, there's only 1 figure from this series so far.

I agree, abrupt / impulsive figure purchase do no good for anyone even with extra budgets lying around. If you get know about the character(s) from its manga/game/anime series before purchasing its product will only help you get attached and give good assessment for its value.

Ga-Rei Zero is one of the best anime series I've ever watched. I decided to take a look at it because Actar mentioned it was amazing in some other Ga-Rei figure post. It is soooo worth the time to watch it. Story and character development, it just so good.

Indeed. I myself don't think I'll be as excited as I am for them if I didn't know anything about the series itself.
I don't watch anime the way the rest of you do, especially when I see it's nothing but the same crap and when everyone makes a big deal out of it. Over-popularity destroys it. (ZOMG FATE,ZOMG HARUHI, ZOMG K-ON, ZOMG LUCKY STAR, ZOMG TYPE-MOON - MUST GET). Then comes 454234534523 varients of these some old figures. And because of this, anime, figma and nendo's have become somewhat of a disappointment to me. Yes, fine "Then don't buy them".
Everyone here just eats up everything that comes out. They could make a magical turd girl in a school uniform that lives her daily life as a school girl who craps her pants everyday in math class and struggles with such a dilemma as the plot and it be the greatest anime ever. It's like almost everyone here shares the same brain. Not everyone is an otaku and watches anime. It's all about hype now-a-days. "Hey, a new show by Type-Moon!, It HAS to be EPIC!"
I don't buy figures because of the show, I buy figures based on appearance. I collect figures because I like figures. This is how "I" choose to spend my money. These are "my" preferences. I'm sorry you see that as shallow but I am far from an otaku and I'm not gonna watch an entire series to see if I like a character or not. I watched Code Geass and liked Lelouch, did that make me want his Figma? Nope, it certainly did not. Those who like Haruhi alot, did they all go out of their way to get the Q-Joy figures? Appearance is a MAJOR role.
What anime do I watch and enjoy? The ones that no one usually cares about.
Air Gear, Tactics, Elfen Lied, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo other crap I don't remember. Will you ever see any real merchandise or attention to those? Nope. School girls and hentai ladies only.

Agreed. I do have Chara-Ani's Yomi, but in my opinion, Yomi deserves a much more dynamic pose... But still... GA-REI ZERO FIGMAS!!! ARGHHHHH!!!

A pair of characters that have I wished for is coming true. Just hope either Kagura or Yomi have a box of pocky as an accessory.
Dreams do come true!!! (^o^) Pocky would be great. But something that would be even greater would be a pair of faces and connecting Pocky to reenact the Pocky scene of episode 4. (^.^)
OMGWTFBBQZOMG!!! If there's any Figma I want more than anything else, it's these two beauties from one of my favorite Animes ever. I and many others have been lamenting the fact that there hasn't been any good Ga-Rei Zero Figmas, but now...
A part of me just died while another part was just re-born. Yomi will go great with my Outo Shishiou Replica. (^.^)

...and with regards to your comment, I want a lot of Figmas. It's just that I didn't even dream that they'd dip into the Ga-Rei Zero series. Fate was a no-brainer as there were multiple Figmas from the Nanoha line already.

LOL I just realized that. To be honest Kagura doesn't concern me as much a her sword, yomi on the other hand is quite the reverse, also with yomi and makina I can finally make a teenage zombie girls guns and sword "buddy combo". (not sure if that last bit made sense)

Someone can add to the already epic weapon by installing a working launching mechanism to shoot out the sword just like in the Anime. (^.^)
The basics would be stuffing a spring in there and something to "click" the sword stuck.

Was putting the bow in Archer's hand (Not the thick stick of the bow which he's supposed to hold, but the thinner one). Then placed the arrow in the string/hand.. Then it flew right past my face against the wall.
Was an interesting experience which made me refrain from Archer doing that ever again XD
Would have been funny if the arrow embedded itself in the wall. (^.^;)

It's just...as good as Ga-Rei is, the character designs are undoubtedly its weakest aspect. Some of the most generic and uninspired offerings imaginable.
I agree. I totally loved Ga-Rei Zero's story and thought it was just great for the most part, but really did not like the generic school girl with swords thing (although Kagura's sword was really cool). I'm on the fence, but due to my love of the series I'll probably end up buying.

Oh Jove yes! I have some cash now, so this'll be the next thing I get, no doubt. Ga-Rei Zero has to be one of my favorite animes so far. I was expecting it to be horrible, but no, it was awesome.
