Poison Bootleg Anime Products

This is very important news to all who buy anime products! The evil bootleg anime product makers have gone too far this time...
As some of you may know, bootleg anime products is a major problem in the industry.Good Smile Company, Kotobukiya, Square-Enix figures are constantly being bootlegged by cheap Hong-Kong/Chinese factories. Same goes for popular jewelry and accessory items from big hit series like Bleach, Naruto and Death Note.
As of late yesterday, my main wholesaler, AAAanime.com put out a notice they received from Viz about recently recalled products. The products were not that of Viz or their licensees GE Animation and Great Eastern, but from the stupid bootleggers, Team Work Trading.
The issue? Well, what's been a problem in many cheap Chinese factories? LEAD POISONING.
These products have been recalled since there was found toxic levels of lead in them!
That's right, if you have bought these horrible copies from a bootleg seller on eBay, at a con, online, or anywhere else...GET RID OF THEM!
Please note that my company, Chuck's Anime Shrine does NOT and will NOT sell ANY bootleg items. My company is a legit anime business and is registered with only the real suppliers in the industry (for the US) AAAanime.com, Diamond Comics, Yesanime.com and Mile-Stone.jp
ALL Naruto, Bleach, Death Note accessories that I might sell in my main store, Amazon and eBay branches are the legit, non-toxic GE Animation/Great Eastern products.
Check out the whole message on AAAanime.com and the official recall on http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10049.html
If you see anyone on eBay selling this crap, or anywhere else...report the listing and the seller right away.

Phew, good thing I'm not into anime accesories. How do we spot the bootlegs?
It's all in the packaging. I mainly stock figures and not so many accessories but I do have the Orihime Hair pins (the real ones). The fake/poison ones look like this--> http://cgi.ebay.com/BLEACH-INOUE-ORIHIME-Metal-Hair-Pin-Anime-Cosplay-Clips_W0QQitemZ400091530091QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5d2750436b
The real ones (by GE Animation) look like these--> http://www.chucksanimeshrine.com/catalog/images/0ebb_12.JPG
Huh... These are pretty common here in Singapore.
uh oh..that's not good ^^;;
down here in melbourne too but doesnt seem abundant of bootleg. but im safe though, as i dont buy these kind of stuff
And Malaysia as well... No wonder our representative Gundam Fighter in G Gundam is a huge skull ball and an Ashura... >,<
the real Uryu Cross comes in a metal case...NOT like this fake one does!
Well heres a thing though, Not that I support bootlegging.. but Lead on a thing.. anything really. Is only dangerous if ingested into the body where it can enter the blood stream.
So unless your snorting it, or Eating it.. Your going to be alright, Just thought I'd let that be known!
that is indeed true, very good point ^^
remember hearing the news about certain brand of toys getting recalled due to it having high lead count ( ben 10 or something like that). to these people, they dont care about other peoples safety so as long they make a quick buck
I've got an "L" phone strap. No idea if it's official goods or not, and no idea if it contains lead if it's not official. Any way to test it?
If the product is from Team Work Trading, then you have one of these or if the product isn't from either Viz, Great Eastern or GE Animation. The cheap packaging like the ones shown above are also good signs.
Those things swarming a lot in my country >.<
Think I've bought some in form of Fate/Stay Night weapons. It's Dark Excalibur that got Avalon as it sheath.
China...first food with melanine poison, now bootlegs with lead poisoning. Bootleggers really don't care so long as profit is in their minds...
