Private Military Contractors

Posted by Hangmen13 [www]

Private Military Contractor (PMC) are companies that offered their military expertise to clients, in particular security and escort services. The deployment and use of PMCs have always been controversial. The Geneva Conventions regarded PMCs or any form of mercenary force as unlawful combatants. While no doubt that their services kept the economies of war-torn countries from collapsing, their tendency to use indiscriminate violence and immunity from prosecution has raised questions of just how much power and authority should PMCs be allowed to wield in given situations.

Anyway, back to the figures themselves (I hope my short intro won't cause topic derailment), it's really about time I jumped aboard the PMC bandwagon. They're a pretty popular subject for 1/6 kitbashers these days due to the relative ease of making one. These two figures represent the common looks of your average PMC. Unlike your usual army grunt, PMCs kept their gears light and 'highspeed'.

The dude with shades uses an M4 SOPMOD from Playhouse. The gears used on the figures are mixed from various brands including BBI, Dragon Models, Hot Toys, Playhouse, Toy Soldier, etc.

12-inch. Depending on the manufacturer, the usual size of a male figure is around 27cm-30cm.

An AK-47 tactical with EOTECH HS, Drum mag, and sound amplifier? Definitely not a "light and fast" weapon...

Maybe not, but it's definitely serious firepower. I don't wanna be pinned down in an insurgent ambush without a drum mag. From what I read in a book about PMCs, these pimped-out AKs are usually Serbian-made Zastava M21.

not a sound amplifier, its a new flash-hider/muzzle breake, also what makes it light and fast is the holographic sight, forward grip and drum mag. I owned an AK-74 from Bulgaria, and if you cant get a Russian AK, Bulgarian and serbian are your best bet.

I was thinking about doing something that sorta resembles Army of Two. Right now, I'm looking for a skull face.
