Mariko's First Snowfall
Since the weather has started getting cold, I decided to make a scarf for my daughter Mariko. She doesn't have any "winter" clothes, so I thought I could at least give her something to keep her neck warm. It ended up being a bit long, but I really like the color. Fortunately for me, I got her scarf finished just before it started snowing! By that morning, she was driving me crazy! She wanted to go play in the snow.

It was a little more difficult than I had imagined to get her to stand up, but with snow coming up practically to her knees, that acted as a bit of a stabilizer. It has mostly stopped snowing when we got out, but she had a lot of snow in her hair when we went in later.

Here you can see the scarf that I made in a bit more detail. The yarn I used was super soft, and I know that it kept her warm.

Mariko really enjoyed playing in the snow, and here you can see her starting to make a snowman. The snow was a bit hard to mold in to a shape, but that didn't keep her from trying!

Mariko tried to hit me with a snowball!
This was the last picture we got to take, because she took a nose dive in to the snow while I was shooting, and it sort of freaked me out. I was working really hard to avoid getting her wet, and I'd done a great job until that instance. I snatched her up, so at least she only got damp.

hehehe hope she had fun! XD we may not have snow over christmas it seems ^^;
She had a lot more fun than I did! XD We don't usually have snow, so this was a total surprise!
Such cute shots!! They came out so well. :]
Aigoo~
Playing in the snow without mittens! I bet her hands were cold.
Next time you should get her white mittens ^^
Hmm~ But I bet it's hard to find such small ones?
I'd probably have to sew her some myself. I imagine they don't make them in her size XD
these are really awesome photos. :)
i think she needs a nice warm coat to go with those mittens ^^ warmth is essential, especially in snowy conditions
Thank you! X3
Since she was only out there for a short while, it was okay, but I'll have to invest in better winter wear if we're going to do any winter traveling (like for our convention trip to DC in February).
Nicely done! She needs a Duster or long coat to stay truly warm.... Fun pics, please do more....
Thank you! X3 There was another uniform set that came with a heavy outer coat, but I decided that I liked the style of the black one better. Unfortunately, it only came with a cardigan instead of the thick coat, but it's better than nothing!
Where did you get Mariko's skirt? Her scarf looks nice and warm
Thank you X3 I got her entire outfit, sans scarf, from Dollmore. Her white dress from earlier photos is also from them.
fun loving girl :p
