Bionicle
I've been collecting Bionicle kits for a number of years. I like them because they are an easy build (no brainers) and you can do a kit-bash with other Bionicle figures.
These Lego kits are popular in my kingdom.
I buy my Bionicle kits at the local K-mart. The Big K (as K-mart is also called), had a sale on the smaller Bionicle kits a week or so ago - if you bought two of the smaller kits, you got one free! Sold out of the small kits in about a day !!
A similar post was posted on my blog with different text for the U.S. readers not familiar with Gundams. I guess this could have been posted as Mecha, but I chose figure related other.

Two Bionicle kits - snap-fit Legos the big one is for ages 7 - 16. LOL :P

Nice containers for storing stuff . . .

Looks like a big wasp!!

Mistika

Cool box!

Nokama - 6 years old and up - pretty simple

Not a bad price considering you get a reusable box

This Nokama had a spinner that you could launch

It has been years since I built a Bionicle . I first got interested with the thing by a movie called Bionicle : Mask of Light and started collecting like a bunch of them
But then I lost interest on them because its just too simple to build and there expensive . Besides , its for 7-16 years old . I'm not qualified to build that .
I'm not 7 and been a looong time since i was 16, but they are fun - they sell big here in the mountain valley . . . and my spiders like them - a lot !! 8P
that yellow head reminds me of the old school cylons from battlestar galatica :)
yeh, the Bionicle boxes are worth collecting just because they are "collectible" :D
Woah, been waiting for a post like this. The series just died, it deserves a mention here somewhen. I've been with these since day one, and damn, do I miss those ol' gear gimmicks.
I think I have around four hundred Rahkshi...
I'm going to post some completed figures later - will show some mash-ups LOL :O
So MOCs of them are allowed here? Awesome. I might start doing that.
i have one from the first generation(the one with the disc throwing thing) ,and two from the second generation(the Mask of Light guy plus his scorpion guy and one of the bad guys, one of those with the sleek body which you can open up to have their host thingy inside), and one of the small blues ones from the 3rd generation. was extremely fun while i was playing it, since i i had the big box so i could always make my own stuff.
pity i dun play with those things anymore. they spur creativity
oh yeah I have 6 bionicle ^^;; 3 from first generation 2 bohroc(forgot how to spell) and 1 from 2nd generation
Wynn in EVERYWHER & moemoekyun! in otakukingdom - I'm not too much for remembering generations, but I think I have 1st and 2nd Gen laying about. thanks to everyone for commenting for :D
Man, this brings me back to 4th grade when it first came out. I haven't bought a set in years but I still like to break out the ones that I have every now and then to just look at them.
Sorta stopped after the Barraki. The Toas get uglier and uglier and the villians look from ok to great but it has been declining.
Went downhill after Ignika IMO...
Nowadays I just use their parts to make my own half-organic, half-mechanical versions of some mobile suits... Weapons are ok though, one of the main reasons I got them in the first place.
makes me happy that everyone is enjoying the photos :D
I bought a bunch to use for stop motion animation, but they just weren't stable enough. Look interesting, pity they didn't do a series with them (beyond the movies)
Bionicle is pretty cool I just got one today for my nephew its his Christmas prezzie he will love it :D omg star wars lego is so cool there was some at shop but its way pricey!!!
Bionicle and Star Wars is a big win in this part of the world :D
