Marvin's gundams

Posted by marvin [www]

I'm having a bit of a dilemma on which gundam I should enter in Danny's Figure.fm giveaway. but I figured I could probably be able to choose while posting some of the old kits I've made over the years.

Marvin's gundams

these universal century gundams are among the first MG gundams I started building. the oldest is the green GM, followed by the blue RX-78 then the Titan Zeta and then the pink Nemo. I'm thinking about using the Nemo as the contest entry but am wondering if a grunt unit would be good enough to join. ^^;

Marvin's gundams

the EX-S Gundam is actually the first MG kit I bought. I saw one at a friend's house and though, I want one as well. fortunately for me, he offered to have it painted for me. however since I wasn't the one who painted it, I would probably be unethical to enter it on any contest. ^^;

Marvin's gundams

painted a MG Crossbone to resemble the XM-X2. I am actually thinking of using this gundam as the entry. one of the strongest contender among the bunch. ^^

Marvin's gundams

a PG kit with a resin add on, got the resin kit from an online seller. was actually expecting a painted kit, but was shocked when it arrived unassembled and unpainted. I'm not sure I can use it as an entry though since I'm not sure if the rules would allow resin add ons

Marvin's gundams

another resin kit I got along with the PG IWSP pack. was also expecting a painted kit. but I guess it was my fault for not reading the page completely before buying. ^^; realy want to enter this one, but since it isn't a gunpla. no can do. ^^;

Marvin's gundams

after seeing Keita's work, decided on copying his color scheme. although this kit looks nice, it does lack originality. so I guess I won't be using this as an entry

Marvin's gundams

a recolor of the RX-78-2 Gundam. always wanted a real type gundam so decided to paint one. this kit is another strong contended to be an entry. unfortunately there are paint inconsistencies around the chest area.

Marvin's gundams

another gundam I'm like to use as an entry. this is actually the last gundam kit I was able to fully paint before painting was banned in the house. note though that I was the one who banned painting not my wife. ^^; baby's health first before gundam. ^^

Marvin's gundams

among one of the nicest kits around, the Shin Musha Gundam would probably be a great entry, however aside from the lacquer dragon sticker, it guess it wouldn't be any different from any other MG Shin Musha Gundam.

so now it's a battle between the MG Crossbone, the MG RX-78-2 Gundam ver Ka.and the MG Strike IWSP. I'll try to decided before the end of the day, until then hope you enjoyed seeing the gundams here and thanks for reading. ^^

    Wow...you custom colour most of your kits. That's impressive.

    I like your white Strike Freedom. ^^

      thank you tamerchris. the Strike Freedom's color scheme was actually based on the famous gunpla builder Keita's work. ^^

    Your choice of colors and customization to your kits are really awesome! Although all your MGs such as your Musha and white Strike freedom are magnificant, I find the Pink Nemo... too pimped for words =~=

    Awesome kits Marvin, all of them have potential ^^ I'd say it's rock,paper,scissors between the Pink Nemo, Musha, and Freedom :D

    I'd go with the Strike+I.W.S.P. that you last painted in the house. It looks purty!

        hm yea quite hard to decide... I think the ones with the coolest parts are PG strike and Strike Noir.
        Remember poses are important too! XD

      The Intergrated Weapons Support Platform looks heavy, requiring two stands to support the weight~! o,0

      lol ^^;
      if it's any consolation, the resin kit is more trouble than its worth. the weight forces you to keep the gundam crouching while on the skygrasper stand. you won't be able to pose it anymore since any pose would make the gundam topple over and you'd end up breaking some resin pieces.

    Seriously, I'm loving this RX-78 Bro.
    The paint contrast is very nice.
    I agree if the chest paint was better, we would have a winner.
