Mashiro Eye Alterations (digital)
I recently learned that I have won the Volks USA lottery for Mashiro Mito! o/ I'm very excited, as she will be my first Dollfie Dream. She's a beautiful DD, and I adore her soft expression, outfit, and accessories. However, the only thing I find that could be improved with her is the shape of her eyes.
Her eyes are tall enough, but somewhat narrow compared to other DD girls like Yoko, Nia, Natsuki, etc...
So here's my take at what her eyes could look like, should I be brave enough to alter them. All of these alterations were drawn in digitally, and are NOT real. XD Though I'm sure you can tell, as I rushed the details for this post.
Also, all of the alterations are realistic. Meaning that they would be possible, as they only involve widening the eye somewhat.
1) This is Mashiro's original/default face
2) And here it is with a bit more makeup as well as slightly larger eyes
3) This one is the most extreme, with eyes comparable to Nia's in size
I apologize that the images are a little blurry. I took the original from Y!Japan auctions, as it was the only picture of her face I could find without hair XD
Looking at what y a did.. if your going to take the chance.. Shoot for 2.. and bear in mind you can do three. But Three looking at it like this.. looks the best.
Yes, and I think if I were actually brave enough to try 2 that it (probably) wouldn't affect her makeup, since it's such a small change to the inner part of the eye. Thanks~
I like the second best. It's cute, but not overly so like three is... it still maintains a sort of mature and elegant look of it's own. If you're going for super cutesy and almost childlike, then I'd say go with three.
Very good point! There was something off with three, and I think you nailed it. It looks more childish, and doesn't fit the sweet, gentle look Volks has given her.

i think the 2nd one looks the best .. last one looks to googly for me .... not a fan of overly huge eyes
Agreed. I think the last one is a bit too large for her design. Which, would kinda scare me since it would be easy to overdue a small change, like the 2nd choice, and make the eye socket too big. She'll probably stay just how she is~
Leave the head the way it is...it's perfect. Volks usually gets it right with their factory faceups. Eye mods are unnecessary.

I doubt I'll really modify her at all. XD This was mostly just a fun experiment to see what she could look like. I'm way too scared to touch an exclusive head, so I'll probably try something out with DDH-02 instead~

Actually I find making the eye hole bigger is the easiest mod to do (or just as easy as sanding down the nose). I like Mashiro's default face-up so I probably won't change mine. But with the standard heads its fun to experiment.
