Vocaloid Nendo Petits

Posted by Kasbunny [www]

From my own family, my Christmas present was some money and GSC's nendoroid petit Vocaloid set. They're so much smaller than I thought! But very cute and well made. I really like small figures like these, probably because I started out my figure collection with gashapon and so they remind me of those.

I got the present Christmas day, but I waited a few days before I actually put them together... I don't have room on the shelves where my figures currently are, so I cleared four shelves of my CD case shelves for them (just big enough for three of each to fit on!). Unfortunately, the picture I took of the unit didn't turn out, but at least the pictures of the figures on each shelf turned out.

I got doubles of this Hatsune Miku, so with four Mikus and four shelves... I put a Miku on each shelf. :] (In fact, if I get one more Miku figure, I can have a Miku on each shelf of my other figure shelves, too, haha.)

Thinking of painting one of the double Hatsune Mikus to look like Chibi Miku. :]

A few more pictures, plus the story of my struggle to put the petits together, can be found at my blog.

Or, you could give your best friend Erin your extra Miku :D :D :D

Great pics, by the way. I think I definitely need to cosplay as Akita Neru. I have such a similar personality to her. And she's so cute!

Haha, I was considering it, but then I wouldn't have an equal ratio of three figures per shelf! Besides, you don't like Miku. ;P

Yeahhh, you really do; following that logic, I should cosplay Yowane Haku. But based on chests (the main difference in our body types nowadays), the roles would be reversed...

        I do like Miku, just not as much as you do. I think that the petite Miku is super adorable X3;

Why do our cosplay characters always come down to our chest sizes? XD

Because in canon girls who bigger busts always have attention draw to them and vice versa... And by anime stereotypes, I really ought to be va-va-vooming all over the place and you should be flat as a board.

I received mine from my family too! \o/ They're so cute and I was ecstatic to unwrap them. <3

However, as we both know, the joy was put on hold when I started trying to put them together. |D One of the problems I can't fix, even now, is that girls who have skirts, like MEIKO, Miku, etc... had plastic around them that popped the waists off during removal. After which, I have been unable to fully push them together. ; ;'' Neru gave me the hardest time (which is funny cause that's her personality XD ), but I somehow managed with her~

So you got two Mikus? I wound up with two Saihate Mikus. Anyways, congrats with the figures! They sure are adorable... just after they finish giving us trouble. ;D

So when you order a box, you get the complete set and an extra? That's nice.

        Oh yes, it's very nice!

Since you're guaranteed the whole cast plus the extra, I'd recommend this to anyone. XD I think it's really nice of them, as GSC could've easily made it a box of nine and shorted us one instead of giving everyone the secret figure plus an extra. <3 I'm sure you know this already, but they're pretty good size and completely interchangeable with one another.

...Only drawback is what Kasbunny mentioned: assembly can be challenging. XD

          Hachune Miku is adorable! ^^
Does GSC do this with the other Nendo Petites as well?

The Vocaloid set is my first one, so I can't be sure about the others. x: Sorry I can't be of further help, but if you're interested in them, I recommend looking it up here: http://myfigurecollection.net/ or on the GSC site.

Yes, I all of my skirt girls' waists popped off during plastic removal. The only one I had trouble pushing back together was Luka, but after she had been warmed with the hair dryer to put her stand in, her waist and torso went back together with a little twist and push!

I'm really going to have to try this. XD Is there a certain rule/setting for the hair dryer method?

Hm, I don't know. My hair dryer is really simple and just as a "Hot/Off/Cool" setting, so I just set it on hot and held the figure a few inches away until my hand was too hot to hold it. It doesn't take much; it just needs to be softened a little bit.
