Broken Canaan figma
Hi everyone. First post, although I've been following danny and figure.fm for over a year now.
Unfortunately I come bearing bad news. Just got my figma Canaan in the post yesterday. Opened her up today and tried to move her right arm. *Snap*. Her arm has broken at the joint and is hanging on by a thread.
Just a heads up for potential Canaan owners, be careful with the right arm ^^. Getting in touch with Hobby Search just now and we'll see where it goes from there.
Some pictures below.
PS. Hope I havn't multi-posted. Tried to use Opera but it didn't seem to do anything. Trying IE now.

Ouch!
reminds me of when canaan's rival(sorry don't know her name)shot her own arm off
ouch!!!!!!!!
i feel bad for u
alphard
but its not really the entire arm, a limb to be exact
but bio_tox do really break an arm
well, i'm not being helpful here
its already warned that the quality of each figma sometimes different to each other
that means, some of the figma is... maybe not as strong as the other 1
about the broken part, i think what can you do is get a cheap pinvise (cheap as in 5 buck(on my country), and drill the broken part with 1mm or 1.5 mm drill, you can get those drill for 10 cent, then after you made quite deep hole, insert a hard wire, or 1-1.5mm nails
drill both broken part, and then fit it the nails into both hole, then glue them with superglue
the joint will be more stronger than the original, but really, only do this if you break a part or such, it just doesn't work with unbroken part
I was just putting it out there, in case anyone else has a similar issue. I remember a lot of posts on here about figma Drossel taking damage.
Thanks for the suggestion there. I'll certainly give it a go if Hobby Search are unable to help.
You'd might want to drop GSC a note.
i think drop it to max factory instead
i dunno how they work, but seem to me GSC is lending their sculptor to MF, which means, MF still responsible in quality control & production
The good news is that the ball is still attached to the shoulder. That's very important! So in your case, you could try and get the peg out of the arm and use some super strong stuff to get it stuck to the ball again.
The bad news is, you'll have to do the fixing yourself ^^"
Thanks for the help. I'll give what varutieru said a go as well.
First though I'll wait and see what Hobby Search come back saying. I'm not expecting a reply soon since new year is almost here.
There is no feasible way to remove the shoulder joint from a figma torso without severely warping the pvc around the joint hole. This is why the entire torso gets replaced when people experience this. The main reason for these types of breakages is due to carelessness. Always ensure that your are moving the joint in the direction it is supposed to move and don't do any forced movements. The worst joint problem I have experienced is a broken elbow joint on Kyon, and that was because I wasn't being careful.
I never said to remove the shoulder balljoint.
I know it's impossible without screwing stuff up.
The peg that I meant was the one thats in the left arm, not the body.
Though I guess you can only get that one out by pulverizing it (Like snapped off figma hands) or a drill/hook thing to pull it out.
Or just glue the arm stuck. You won't be able to move the arm around the peg anymore, but at least you can still rotate the entire arm into every direction.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
broken figma again XDDDD
send e-mail support@goodsmile.co.jp sometimes working or to place you order him like hobbysearch or the others
Yeah im spewing the one and only figure I have broken was shikabane hime figma... I tripped and fell while she was in my hand, all is not a loss because it's her arm that snapped off I will go by some red model paint and splat blood on her then blood around the joint to make it look like she has had her arm ripped off and this makes sense thank god it was makina..
That's a shame, hopefully you will get it sorted out. Looks like a cool Figma.
thats exactly what happened to my asakura ryouko from the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya figma!!!
