Year of the Taiga

2010 is the Year of the Tiger, so who better to draw than Aisaka Taiga, from the anime ToraDora!, and dressed up just right for the celebration.

I drew this up in OpenCanvas. The canyon behind her is based on a real place not far from where I live, but with suitable modifications to fit the scene. I went and did a bunch of research on Japanese New Year's customs and costuming to try to get her design right. At first I thought, "hey, I'll draw a Kimono and that's good", but then I realized, "uh, what sort of Kimono?". Some searches later, and checking for current styles, I think I got something halfway decent.
