New Code Geass Anime Official

Yes, you heard correctly! With this Magazine scan to prove it, a new Code Geass Anime is officially in the works! Previously, we've heard of a possible new Code Geass 'project', but finally, it's official that the series will be a new Anime (full series) that promises a “new birth,” .

It's anyone's guess what the Anime will be, but,

What would you like the new series to be?

But whatever the case, as a Ultra Fan of Code Geass, I can't help but welcome the new series. I for one enjoyed the second season for what it was, even though it definitely didn't live up to the standard of the first season.

Whether it will turn out epic or horrendous, only time will tell, but I am definitely looking forward to it.

It was already official that there'd be a new anime - has been for weeks, at least - this just (seemingly) confirms that Lelouch will be back. As a huge fan of the first two seasons, I'm excited for this either way... but I really wish they'd left Lelouch out of it to maintain the impact of R2's ending.

This is officially one of the coolest things I've heard this month. A direct sequel would be nice, but only time will tell...

*SPOILERS* Bringing back Lelouch will nullify the impact that the ending of R2 had, I think. I would prefer they not do that. Maybe it will be something like a Nightmare of Nunally alternate storyline, or a fill in the blanks in-between-quel, stuff like explaining what happened to Li Xing-Ke and his coughing blood.

    i so hope it's a sequel. o_o
but i hope the most that they construct the story very well this time. there were so many unexplained situations back in the 1st & 2nd season.

It had better be a rewrite if Le-douche is to have a prominant role in the new anime. God, I hated R2...

They're totally milking the series for what it's worth. If it's sequel, let's see how interesting they bring Lelouch back, if they bring him back at all. if not, I bet it's a prequel

Well, they can milk it all they want, after all, its the fans that get rewarded with more Geass Epicness. Of course, hopefully, it will be good quality milk.

I hope its a spinoff that features the alternate ending of lelouch becoming r2. I mean, lelouch's death IS and WILL ALWAYS BE heartbreaking but nevertheless, is epic and teaches a lot of lessons about making things happen. If they make a sequel where lelouch is alive, It will ruin what makes code geass the series itself.

Or maybe it shows a side story, the possibilites are endless.

Code Geass without Lelouch isn't Code Geass in my opinion. It was his character that made the show interesting. The mech's weren't anything new or amazing and the alternate history thing has been done a million times. Lelouch's ability to manipulate the world was what made the show great. If he isn't there then it has a lot to prove.

Also he didn't die at the end of R2. I'm sorry but he just didn't. Within the rules established in the show, a sword to the gut only made him immortal.

Nice I remember hearing something about a new code geass season but nice to see that it is official now. So at least I get to look forward to the new code geass season as well as the Shana third season and the new K-on season this year or next year:D I don't care as long as they don't try and rush them and they don't turn out terrible.

Can't help thinkning about what it'll be. The chances of it being a new series balanced again animating one of the side-manga series out there are even, but if it happens to be new, who's going to be a main character? We had Nunnally's story, Suzaku's story, and Lelouch's story but without the benefit of giant robots. And if it's a movie retcon, will they have the original story for R2's start incorporated in?

Can't wait for the next informative tidbit to come out. XD

    All Hail Lelouch!All Hail Lelouch!
Anyway... I pretty happy to see Lelouch and Suzaku are back.
Though I'm not sure if it's a spin off or a sequel.
What would I like? ...Well a sequel would be cool, though animating those side stories they made for the manga could be good too and they wouldn't have to reduce the impact (at least in other peoples' minds)of Lelouch's death at the end of the second season.
