Revoltech Fraulein Yoko Movie Ver.

Posted by Hangmen13 [www]

I finally unpacked Yoko and did a photoshoot a few days before I flew back from my hometown to Kuala Lumpur. I have to say this is my second favourite Revoltech Fraulein after Pocco. The movie version of Yoko features much improvement over the previous one, noticeably the increased bust size but more importantly is her cheerful facial expression over the original's dull expression. I love the carbine version of her Anti-Ganmen rifle. More pictures in my blog.

Since I prioritize my 1/6 figures more, many of my other scale figures like Figmas and Revoltechs tend to be left pristine in box and often neglected for quite some time until the next asteroid strike hits earth. In fact, as of time of writing, there's approximately 5 Figmas (plus 3 more I recently obtained in KL) and 7 Revoltechs waiting to be unboxed! But wait, if I count the 14 or more HGUC gunplas that I haven't built... (T__T) Oh balls.

That's the difficulty I faced with living far away (amazingly, I'm still in the same country) from my hometown: when the holiday kicks in and I flew back to my hometown, I have to constantly juggle my priorities here and there before the semester holiday ends, and after that is another 4-5 months before the start of the next semester holiday. Unpack new figures/gunplas, photograph figures/gunplas, build gunplas, kitbash 1/6 figures, update blog, play videogames, meet up with old friends, surf the Internet for healthy materials, disassemble dolphin for maintenance and oiling, ARGH! All of these priorities have left me in despair!

Do note that Yoko's pissed off expression was taken from the original Fraulein Yoko and is not included with the movie version.

Her increased bust size does hinder her articulation somewhat. Oh well, at least Yoko's more aesthetically pleasing now.

One of the biggest mistake I did in the photoshoot is setting the ISO sensitivity way too high (ISO-800), causing significant image noise in a number of images. Fortunately, Irfanview came to the rescue and helped me touch up the images. The sweet spot seems to be around ISO-400.

I'd never really like the Fraulein line very much since their articulation weren't that good, but Yoko look nice.

This is the only non mecha Revoltech in my collection and I have to say she is a really nice figure and certainly well worth the money. Though not shown in the pic's she does also come with a simple black stand.

Yoko's a good 10% larger / taller than the average figma and although her joints are not as delicate as a figmas, at least they don't wair out like a figma's wrist joint and start flopping round, something that pisses me off no end about figma's.

Though not easily seen in the shots she also has a twist joint on her thigh's where the stockings end and likewise above her elbo's where the arm sleves end. Articulation is at the very least on par with a figma if not a little better imo.

Oh and nice shots you've taken there btw!

Yeah true. While Figmas are more pleasing and certainly looks 'high-end' compared to a Fraulein, they do suffer a bit of joint degradation over time (my Figma Nagato exhibits that). Even my Revoltech Revy is still holding up fine despite being nearly three years old. And for the record, my Figma Tsuruya had flimsy hands right out of the box!

I was just wondering: do you guys with this version of Yoko have difficulty getting her to stand with the 'unfurled' hairpiece? It's awfully heavy in my hands, and I haven't had much success keeping her standing when it's attached. Heck, it feels like the knee joints are weakening thanks to it (and since the knees are just friction joints, I fear mine might turn into a rag doll soon... ^_^; )

No problems at all. Yoko with unfurled hair is as steady as her ponytail hair. Her joints are tight enough, at least with the one I own.

Take out your knife and repeatedly tap F until Yoko is free from her box!
