Lens Get!
Finally got the lens I ordered 10 days ago; should have come the next day, but they were out of stock so it was delayed until they got a shipment from the manufacturer. It's the Sigma 28mm F1.8 EX DG Aspherical Macro. Since moving from film to digital I missed having a 'standard' lens like what a 50mm is on 35mm. Because the K20D has an APS-C sized sensor my 50mm lens is cropped/zoomed to 75mm which is too long for a walkaround lens. So I settled on this 28mm which equates to 43mm with the crop/zoom.
Don't have much time to try it out atm because I'm in the middle of revision/exams for university, but after those I have 2 weeks off in which to play about with it :) Very impressed with the macro ability; Sigma claim the minimum focusing distance is 20cm, but in practice it focuses so close the subject is nearly touching the hood! Should be nice for figure shoots for when my 100mm macro is too long (~150mm with the zoom/crop!).
Very NICE !! seems I see Sigma lenses as primes on many major makes. gonna check them out LD
