Dollfie staining
I am very puzzled why this happened as I made a pair of pants with same material and thread and there was no staining and this time... not so lucky ^^;
I normally use pimple cream to treat any accidental stains, but this time I don't remember where it was kept since our move ^^; So quickly made a pair of grey pantyhose (sewn with white thread) for Mirai to cover up and at the same time protect from further staining ;_;

Ah yes DC coloured Shimapan ^^;;;

Grey pantyhose ^^; Made the ankle part a bit too tight (oops)

Mirai and her latest weapon of choice ^^;

Mirai miffed at me ;_;

mine never got any, and I wasnt a sucker to buy all that body or head gear that volks wants you to buy...and shes been wearing a black/pink out fit for two months straight.
It's funny how some of the dark colour clothes are a hit and miss o_o; good that your doll hasn't got a stain yet ^^;
i currently have a few stains on my girl too. and i have no idea how they got there >.> i guess i should try pimple cream too(i tried rubbing alcohol to see if that would clean, no luck)strange thing is....nothing dark touched her there before O.O
such a pain huh ^^; You also gotta becareful if U put her in a bag, if the bag has some dark stuff or pen/pencils... not a good idea ^^; Some of my friends keep their doll bald and naked to reduce chances of staining ^^;
try goof off
sounds good, i'll look into it.
@ chun, i think she will get cold with nothing on ^^; but yea, i'll definitely keep her out of dark bags and away from pencils. thanks :D
Both of my dollfies have some stain on them ;_; Yoko got a little after being dressed in her default outfit (got a nice ring around one of her legs) and Rin got stained by her stockings. So sad. :(
Oh dear! So did you try to do something about the stain?
Yokoooo huhuhu
I haven't tried anything, but may try the pimple cream solution. Was about to place an order from Volks for a body stocking for Yoko so may see what they have for stain cleaning.
pimple cream takes time, but works for some stains at least I think :3 it removed a stain I accidentally left behind one of the dollfie bodies (I didn't know my pen leaked and went to hold the doll by the neck =_=)
It would be nice if Volks or someone made a test cylinder of similar material as the Dollfie vinyl shaped like a ring sizer or something, to see what threads and fabrics will do over time.
If I get sponcership I'll do it, dollfies are nothing more than material like anything else, they're finite.
Oh epic shimapan!!
And love those stockings.
thankq~! ^o^
Love the shallow depth of field there! What model camera do you use?
I used the XT with canon lens EF 50mm :3
My Rin has stains on her feet from her stockings and then from her shoes. It would appear that even the shoes can stain =P
Thinking of getting two of those natural body stockings for my girls as I would like to leave them in dark clothes without worrying about staining ^^;;
when I bought her those black shoes, I took them off quickly after some photos for fear of them staining lol! Such a pity that they get stained o_o;
I wonder how well the stockings would fit over the body stockings. I had a lot of trouble getting the stockings on Rin as they were extremely tight around the ankles...
have you tried pulling it slowly thru the tight part? I had to do that with this one lol
I actually ended up removing her feet first and putting them in the stockings. Then reattached them once they were in place.
oooh that's another way to do it I guess! :3
I did I first too, but then I did like chun suggested. Not I get them all and off no problem lol
Just a suggestion, but I've removed stains from many things, *mostly "solid" things, like cars and such* using lighter fluid. I think waaayy back when I was a kid, my Mom made clothes for Barbies and such. I recall she used lighter fluid for removing dark cloth stains. I don't know if the same plastic is used or not..
I think I'm a bit scared to use thinner or lighter fluid in case they leave a different type of stain which I have no idea how to remove ;_; Thanks for your input tho! I appreciate it! :)
I'd rather play on the "safe" side, honestly, If you think that thinners etc. would make things worse, then don't do it. (i'd hate to ruin someone's daughters from bad info) my recollections are at least 35+years ago. I'm sure plastics are more modern these days.... Best of luck, I hope things work out...
Thanks! :) I appreciate your input! ^^
Poor Mirai! But those pantyhose she got out of the deal are quiiiiite nice.
I probably should have made her a pair from the start ^^; but then if I had sold the skirt or something similar and it stained other people's dolls I won't be able to forgive myself =_=;;;; so hopefully something good comes out from this other than the pantyhose lol! :3
My dd yukino has never been near anything dark. Shes only dressed in one pure white outfit since she is new...but for some reason, she got these vericose vein looking lines on her thighs...;_;
She's so angry with me but I never put her anywhere near anything dark coloured...
Oh duh.. I forgot my hint for getting some stains off dd's. I get grass stains and the like off with a baking soda/antiback soap (more baking soda than soap) mix and scrub with a hard bristle tooth brush. Rinse with water. The toothbrush is hard enough to get deep down but not hard enough to scratch dd skin. Its worked on every stain on my dd to date except the mysterious vericose veins on my girls thighs.
Isn't it frustrating that some stains just suddenly came up and we have no idea where they're from? Hopefully it'll fade off with time for your girl! >_<; Thanks for sharing!
Ummm I think the mini skirt might have stained because the way its shaped it rubs more on her thighs than the pants. Like everytime u move her legs the edge of the skirt rubs on or something.
I don't worry too much about small stains, i have too many bodies to worry about ^^"
I do try to prevent it as much as possible but sometimes it just happens...
small light stains fade with time too so its not so bad.
hmm I see isee, the thing was she was mostly sitting in the same pose for at least a week or so, so it probably kinda pressed against her thigh-- what I guess. When she was wearing the pants (with same materials used) she mostly stood around, but around the bum is quite tight fit so I'm puzzled lol oh well, just gotta treat it somehow XD Oh yes! I got some kips on the way finally :P couldn't stand Taiga flopping around anymore ^^;
Probably not the right mood, but orange shimapan panties! So cool I want a pair, orange is my favorite color after all.
pantsus are a pain in the bum to make LOL I made this intended for the normal body but it was too loose after I was done =_= then I thought hey it'll fit the dynamite body XD
What type/brand of pimple cream?? :)
I used Oxy 10 before for some stains, works okay ^^
My Sasara has got stained from her default black dress.Hand washed the dress and treated her body with oxy 10.
Stains are gone afterwards ^^
aw! that's good to know! :) thanks for sharing the information! :D
I'm wondering if Oxy-Clean would work... Anyone have an extra part to try it on? *I have no dollfie or other soft plastic things to try it on* Might be worth a try...
I have some oxy clean at home but it's blue in colour so I'm kinda scared it may stain the part blue LOL!
Ecchi man has blue balls.
:P now that's random!
"random-ecchi-blue-man-balls?*... 0.O wtf? Oxy-clean usually has no color in water, unless you have a diff type in CN.. I dunno... If you're not comfy with it, by all means, don't do it... I'll think of more, and hope it's harmless to anyone's daughters, by all means...
"...Wh... Why did you let this happen to me? ;_;"
ToT;;;;
Acetone (nailremover) I heard would work great on Vinyl
gonna try it today
My Fate is stained very badly because her navy blue battle outfit
both arms have allot of stains and the legs have one or two
My Nanoha has no staining
I would be careful with acetone as it is a solvent to most types of plastic. Better try it first on some scrap vinyl or a part that is not too visible.
Yeah I seem to read mixed reviews about acetone, I know acetone is very bad for say blythe's eye chips -- it gets absorbed and the plastic changes/melts over time o_O so I am hesitant to put it on my dollfie dreams JUST in case it gets absorbed too deep =_=
Perhaps it is better to wash the clothes before they are put on for the first time; that way excess color may be washed out...
unfortunately it's only a "may" I had actually washed some fabrics with a vinegar solution but the colours comes off ON the doll (not dollfie dream) lol so it's weird, almost like a chemical reaction with the plastic and the colours ^^;;
thanx for the advice
will try to get some pimple cream then
I hope it helps!
I try to only buy light colored clothing for my girls, but every once in a while a small stain will appear. So frustrating. T.T
I use the Mr. Clean magic eraser, and so far have never had a stain that it hasn't gotten rid of!
as long as the stain can be removed! muhuhu
from the photo I see the color stain lightly on the surface, it can be removed easily. 3 yrs ago, when I found the color stained on my tamane ( tamane is my 1st DD) , I was very surprised and wondered what happening XD. But now I will take it easy, except special part like Kanu's body ( no tanned DDdy body sold in volks ) I will pay more attention on it, play with care XD
I hope so! I feel somewhat impatient as it will probably take some time for the stain to fade I found the pimple cream and has apply to the stain, now can only wait XD
found out that OXY10 pimple cream is good for stain removal on DDs.
I hope it will work on these stains this time! o_o
dont worry Chun, it must be ok by using pimple cream :>
Yumiko and Zetto both have a few little stained bits, but thankfully they do not show, except for the stains on Yumiko's dainty little hands. And now that they have full-length protective suits...
http://www.figure.fm/post/en/5333/Always+wear+protection.html
...they will be protected against future staining. There are some outfits Yumiko has which require briefer garments underneath, which I have (Volks Dollfie Dream sleeveless body stocking) and of course swimwear means off with any sort of protection. Now that Zetto has been given a more manly physique because of his 55cm abdomen, he can wear swimwear without looking funny.
I don't have a dollfie, but I have a few 1/6 dolls, and they use the obitsu body that has a soft bust. I had a doll that got stains on that soft bust, and another that had stains on the knee joints. ;-; So now I'm just waiting for replacement bodies to come in. ^^ I try my best to stay away from black clothing for my dolls, as it freaks me out thinking that the clothing could be staining them.
