Marvin's Room

Posted by marvin [www]

[*] Name (or nick name) – Marvin Ryan, Marv, Marvin
[*] Age – around Danny’s age. ^^ that would be 30ish
[*] How many years you have been an otaku – 13 years, but have been watching anime since I was a wee lad. Been a fan of giant robots like Mazinger Z back in the 80’s
[*] Nationality – Canadian Filipino
[*] Outline of your collection – Mostly Gundams, but have been influenced by Mr. Danny Choo into buying figures around 2005 to 2006. however I’ve been buying and collecting anime back when they were still sold as VHS and continued on when they started to release them in DVD format.
[*] How much your collection cost - hard to say, but I could probably peg it at around 20K USD.
[*] Your fave item – a tie between Figma Saber Lily and my 1/100 GFF Metal Composite blue MSZ-006A1 Zeta Plus.
[*] Your website address – http://www.marvinryan.com
[*] Anything else you want to say. – though I have to admit that I often binge on my otaku hobbies from time to time, I am a firm believer that a person should never spend above his means. I know that it’s sometimes very hard to resist the urge to buy something so special. But think of it this way, if I missed out on a limited figure or gundam even after I worked hard to be able to purchase it, there will always be something I would want more in the near future. By then I’d have enough money to buy that one plus more. ^^

if you look closely, there are 3 picures of me, 2 of them includes my wifey. ^^
wondering if this is acceptable, or should I upload another one with me actually in it.

almost forgot to mention, the remote is for a Mac TV tuner. Interesting gadget, it allows mac users to receive cable TV signals as well as over the air digital or analog TV transmissions. it can even tune in to local FM radio transmissions. and allows Mac users to do time lapse recording. I believe Danny has been looking for one. I have to remember to do a review of that later on. ^^

    Is baby allowed in there?

You must be using some anti-aging cream. Your face is not blurry anymore.

yes the baby is allowed to come in and look, but I suspect I'd have to start storing my Gundam kits before she turns 2. ^^
