Dakimakura Ikaros and Sohara
Adding these two to my collection increases my dakimakura count to 10. Well only 4 are official products while 6 are unofficial copies bought through ebay. I get depressed whenever I think about my constant spending but at the same time find myself smiling whenever I look at these lovely bishoujo, they assure me that spending $100 on each official daki or such figures is worth while(who am I kidding? a $100?).
Looks like I will be having fun pouncing tonight (^o^)/ *joking* Though I do admit I've hugged one to sleep before a few times XD

Decided to take photos of them with a pillow inserted but supposedly I just laid her on top one of my pillows since its a pain to insert the pillow(hard work) thats why if looked closely you can see the other side's linings n such

Ikaros never really show any emotions so I don't know if she liked it or not.
Though for Sohara you can tell she liked it because she's smiling happily to my ecchi touch. OPPAI PRESSU!
In response to Actar's question if they are official or not. I haven't experienced much unofficial but the ones I have doesn't come in packaging like this or have the copyright insignia on the daki itself. Also the material is a major difference between unofficial and official daki -see the comments for further information-
Heck theres already an unofficial daki of Ikaros out except it doesn't have the side where she's on the beach with the watermelon but does have the side with the angeloid suit though.

A LOT! XD Have you seen the anime? 2nd episode, due to circumstances she tried on a huge amount of pantsu. Wished they had more plot development though besides the "last few minutes dedicated to the actual story content" as the plot itself was very interesting.

Question: Are these official?
I know that the Ikaros and Sohara Dakimakuras do come with the LE box set of the Sora no Otoshimono DVDs and I do have the Ikaros one. Thought the Sohara one didn't come out till later in the month.
These are official but not from the LE DVDs. They are sold as the covers only for the price of 10000yen each. You can find them at hobby search. The Ikaros one is still available but the Sohara one is out. They are quite popular too as reservation has closed on the other characters already except the Tomoko and Ikaros school uniform ver that comes with a phone card.

as memories posted: yes. and the main difference with these from the DVD limited editions is that these follow the anime art while the DVD follows the manga art.
and yeah, i got myself the DVD too from amazon after you got it from japan :P
sohara daki isnt coming until a few more episodes though AFAIK.
2nd episode includes a drama CD, no daki. 3rd episode comes with Nymph daki.
Also a thing to note about official vs. unofficial is the material. Official daki even though you wrinkle them or fold them, no wrinkles/fold will show. While unofficial daki when folded or wrinkled will show visibly and will not disappear even after straightening it.
Another thing is that my unofficials do not have the copy right insignia or the series title on them. While Ikaros and Sohara along with my other 2 official daki have the copyright and series title on them. Guess I will snap the packaging n such just to remove any uncertainty of these two being official/unofficial.
I have a question in regards to the unofficial daki that you got off from ebay, is the material peach skin polyester and it still give you wrinkles when you fold them?
Yes, the material are said to be peach skin. As of what I know of peach skin, if you hang them the wrinkles will fade eventually. I have one hanging for a little bit over a month but the folds are still visible but not as strongly.
When you compare it to the material used in official daki they are inferior. Still unofficial are fairly priced depending on who you get it from ranging from $15 to $40 at lowest. And is a good start if anyone is interested in the line of daki but does not want to whip out a 10000yen on an official.
I could post my unofficial up sometime if you would like to see the difference in comparison to official daki. Though someone will have to reply if they want to see it or I will brush it off as a no need.
well smooth knit and polyester (not sure about peach skin?) are slightly different. the main thing would be the wrinkle part, and the feel to it. polyesters usually tend to be "shiny" or too damn smooth
also, with all that said the materials are still relatively cheap. insider infos claim the cost for a daki is between 2-3k yen. the rest of your money goes to licensing/royalties to the anime/mangaka etc.
Would be great if you post the comparison on both of them but I won't force your time to do it tho XD anyhow thanks for the info because I am still deciding whether the material between official and unofficial have a big difference.
And also I would like to know your other official dakimakuras, were they bought off from HS or similar stores? Some dakimakuras on HS stated polyester on the material description. I wonder if that is the same as polyester satin and yet now there is a smooth knit which is a bit more expensive version.

once i get the time ill start posting my recent loots, and of course soraoto DVD1 with its daki, and maybe compare it with my current daki i guess XD
Honestly though, the material difference shouldn't be huge so long they are of the same 'type' (eg: both being smooth knitt, especially if you've bought the unofficial ones before and know well what you're getting/wanting)
The main difference imo, is by buying the official ones, you're supporting the industry directly and that is always a good thing if you're a fan of the particular works.
