First-time Photography

Posted by eppn

Hi, Eepy here. I'm a bit new to this hobby but I've always been interested in photographing them. I recently got a figure (VERY LATE TO GETTING IT) I've been wanting for awhile and took some photos. I hope to improve with the feedback anyone has to offer!

Also new to the community, so hello!

Welcome man. Beautiful figure, It looks to me like you have a pretty good handle on things photography wise.

As for feedback on the pictures. The lighting is well done, but the focus seems kind of soft. Of course its a soft character, so its not a deal breaker. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if you said you meant it that way.

It was unintended, so thanks for the crit- I'll remember to use manual focus next time around, or play with autofocus more.

Manual focus on this spot, maybe with a slightly deeper field.

It would be nice if there is a tutorial around for removing little scuff marks like these. :(

Can always 'fix' it in photoshop using the clone tool. Sadly, only work on the pictures...not on the figure =P

Oh damn. Nice figure. I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a figure. I know a lot of people want her, but can't afford it. (Yet, for some reason, they can afford multiple nendoroids every month... I sometimes can't understand otaku logic. I guess, they don't believe in the "less is more" statement.)

At any rate, Nice photos. I'm not a photographer myself, so I think all the photos look good actually. :D

Damn I don't want to spend close to $200 for her. She is very lovely though. She has been on my wishlist for a very long time. I doubt Max Factory will ever re-release her.

I love all my figures, but I'd have to say Max Factory's Kureha is still my favourite. She's simply stunning. I also paid a pretty penny for the one I bought too since she's so rare. =^_^=
