Late Present

Posted by GrimbySlayer [www]

Quick post before bed.

This turned out to be a late gift, but I think Yoko enjoys this just as much as her other gifts.

I was able to grab the last kimono of this type from Dollmore - Ume gold variant for 70cm sized dollfies. Yes, Yoko is not 70cm tall, but interestingly enough it still fits her decently if you dress her properly. Why I decided to go for this one instead of a normal SD sized 60cm kimono? I just really liked the design ^^; The black kimono underneath is a standard SD sized piece. Took me about 45 minutes to dress her twice in these but I think it turned out well.

Now I just have to watch out for staining. On a related note to that, beware of nine9 style's red clothing tags in shirts and pants - they WILL cause stains! -_- They make great clothing but just make sure to remove the label or cover it.

Tried to make this look like an old time photo just for fun.

Gorgeous dollfie! The color pictures are just wonderful, they really bring out the detail in the kimono.

The detail is far greater than I imagined - I'm definitely taking more pictures soon!

Oh that kimono is just gorgeous! One would buy a Dollfie doll just so you could dress her up in that Kimono. And it goes Yoko really well.

Thanks! Out of all the ones I found, I really thought this would fit her the best.

Don't think they are that high actually. About 20+ dollars I think.

The two kimonos were each below 30 but put them together and then add in EMS shipping (22!) and it becomes about as much as buying a whole clothing set from Volks. But I'm really happy with it as it fits and looks amazing.

Yoko looks absolutely delightful, there are times where it's hard to believe she's a merc.

Lovely kimono. I just stayed with the SD size ones when I got mine, but that one does indeed look nice. One thing I do like about Dollmore are their kimonos, may have to check out the 70 cm ones.

Are as staining goes, I got the celestial gown (http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=5730) to act like an undergarment to (hopefully) prevent staining.

      Yea, Dollmore has some great kimonos that I thought were pretty affordable for what they are. It's interesting to note that that with the 70cm kimono, it was easier to dress her than the 60 cm one. Her bust was just too much for the 60cm kimono ^_^;

Good idea with the celestial gown as the inner!

Yeah, the 70cm kimono does sound like a good idea. The 60 cm does seem a bit small on Yoko after seeing your photos.

I'll know for the next time I get some kimonos =D

The amount I spent was actually less than the amount I'd spend on a normal PVC figure pre-sale which normally could be 80 to 90. I've come across "real" kimono's for DD on Yahoo Japan Auction that just went for ridiculously high prices (well over 100 USD).
