Poladroid

Poladroid is an app that lets you turn your photographs into the old square Polaroid format. the process crops the standard 35mm format and changes the hue, saturation and exposure - you have no control - you can reprocess the same image up to ten time (standard number of prints in the old Polaroid film packs) or you can select ten different images, it's up to you.

I ran some of the Old School photos through the Poladroid app and thought I would share the results. The app is free, you can download it at www.poladroid.net The app is a Beta, so you can submit suggestions for the final version

    Cool... I'll have to give this one a shot.

    I've got a Polaroid camera, but film cartriges are getting harder to find. Not to mention that they cost an arm and a leg (about $2 per photo) as well. Though, I guess, when you think about it, by the time you've paid for film and processing 6x6 medium format isn't much cheaper ^^;

      heard a bit of a rumor about "maybe " Polaroid will make more film nest year - some connection between the company and a singer ?? If they do produce some film, I have three cameras waiting to go to work !! meantime, I;ll play with the app.

        There was a group that bought all their old manufacturing gear, called something like "The Impossible Project" with the intention of putting Polaroid film back into production. However, beyond that I don't know what's happening, plenty of rumor but little that's solid. One rumor was that they were having trouble meeting environmental requirements, one of the reasons that Polaroid film went out being that the production of the film uses some quite toxic chemicals. So they were having to re-engineer the film to use less toxic products. Another rumor was that they were in production but only doing Spectra or SX70 film cartriges... honestly I've no idea. All I know is that the only stuff I've been able to find are NOS Polaroid 600 cartriges. That's fine as it's what my Polaroid takes, but it's a pain not knowing.

        Out of interest: what Polaroids have you got?

          I have "The Reporter", an SX-70 Original, the Polaroid 600 "Cool Cam", a roll-film model (not sure of the number) and a Polaroid i ZONE "Instant Pocket Camera" (would have to be wearing cargo pants to have a pocket big enough to hold it). The roll-film camera is in a box somewhere . . . I'll do some photos of the collection, process them with the Poladroid app, then post them. Good chatting with you. :D
