+1 armor unit. Garance figure review
Against all odds I successfully finished my first fully painted Gundam. RX-78/C.A. it is. Can`t say it turned out great, but you know the proverb: “Things don't work the first time”, and they certainly did not.

RX-78 before painting, and after.

I stepped aside from suggested paint theme not only because I cant really figure out how to mix colors to achieve desired tinge, but I just wanted to have a RED Gundam in my possession.

My last acquisitions: 1/60 non-grade Gundam Exia, wanna try myself on a bigger models before going into PG, and so very much adorable figurine of Garance as portrayed in "Colors" doujin(s) by Kitutehu Vignette, (please, fix me if I'm wrong).

If you think about it, this figurine encompasses most of Japanese indigenous and “moe” culture, presented to the outsiders....

Here we have a gates to a Shinto shrine – “torii”.

A mail box, immediately reminded me of an anime series – “Myself, Yourself.” Episode 8: when Sane finds dozens of letters from Nanaki: “TASUKETE! TASUKETE! TASUKETE! / Save me! Save me! Save me!” heart throbbing it was, indeed.

Figurine came with a small booklet. Pity that I can’t read any of it. Still, I can very much enjoy the art.

it's probably the coloration that doesn't look right for me... A red gundam is fine, but the way the colors are proposed to me just don't add up... Sorry to be critical...
and I was also under the impression that the non-grade 1/60 Exia wasn't that great, as in quality...
Well, the colors may seem quite dull, and they are. Because I went really, really heavy with the clear coat to prevent paint from being scratched off. As I mentioned earlier, base coat works better.
Had a limited choice of colors in my arsenal, only Tamiya XF - flat colors, have to get some gloss colors and figure out how to mix them together.
Paint separation was another nasty find. Black spot in the center of the left waist armor plate - noticed it when it was too late, sanding was not really an option for it'll flatten whole plate.
As I found out later, Oxi Clean will remove acrylic paint in seconds, no need to wait and scrape of the gunk with a tooth brush.
BTW, what you fellows think on the Tamiya "X10 Gun Metal" paint on the armaments, I find it quite good looking, it might be my personal "fave".
I like the total figure idea - very nice
Garance is a very nice figure :D
The red looks very dull, and if you want a red gundam.. i guess it's fine. But according to the picture it looks more like a Johnny Lightning custom O_o... customization is only limited to the person's imagination and desires.. besides I can't do 10% of that ^^
When it comes to custom colouring, i tend to choose the colours which suits my taste. but in 1 instance i did messed up the colours and lately i did just that on my MG sword impulse and instead of white, i used brown. I got quoted by someone saying " it looked like it came out of a mud pool" but others have said it was unique in a way. few have said for me to use something else besides red, like yellow or green to blend with the brown. So im going to pursue it once i get time
