Yahoo Japan Auction Trouble

So I was looking for the Haruhi mousepad that Danny has and I found one on Yahoo Japan Auctions. I had been looking for one forever and finally found one, so I decided to open an account and bid.

The item was a buy now item for 400yen so I went ahead and bought it. Everything was going great until it came to paying for it. It turns out that I need a Japanese credit card or bank account to pay for it, something I don't have. Basically, I can't pay for the item at all, and this is my last resort.

I know this is a weird request, but I was wondering if someone could help me pay for it. The item in question is this: http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x82525107. The item itself is 400 yen with 100 yen for shipping, making it 500 yen. If it were to be paid thru Yahoo wallet, it would cost 608 yen total including convenience charges. This is a very low priced item and not being able to get it because of this is really frustration.

If anyone out there has a Japanese credit card/bank account, could you please help me out? I know I can trust someone who uses this site since we all love aniota stuff, and I promise I'm trustworthy too. Here's what I propose:

  1. I give you my account information and you can input you financial information into the account. I promise that I won't use it for anything besides this.
  2. I will go ahead and access my account again with the financial information and finish the transaction. It might take a while tho, since I can't read Japanese and will have to wait for emails and such.
  3. After successfully paying for the item, you can access my account again and delete all your financial information. I promise I won't write it down or record it; I have my own money and I have no need to steal from anyone. During this time, I will go ahead and PayPal you the total amount. We can discuss when I pay you, but I was thinking that I can PayPal you after the transaction is complete just to make sure the order went thru successfully. Of course, I can pay you commission for allowing me to borrow your information. We can discuss that as well, but please don't charge me $10 for this $7 item.
  4. And last but not least, I will change all my account information after you confirm yourself that all traces of your financial information are gone. This is to ensure that we don't have access to each other's information. Again, I promise I won't steal your money. I realize that you are much more vulnerable than me during this time, but I never take advantage of people and since I'm posting this publicly on this website, you can trust me.

I have an account at Tenso.com, so shipping is not an issue. We can correspond thru email, AIM, Google Wave or any other method while we are doing this in order to make sure nothing extra is happening. This will be quick and easy, basically we just pay and that it's.

Please consider and I know this was a long post, but if someone out there who is able to help me can, that would make my life so much easier. Not only am I worried about not being able to receive this mouse pad, but I also feel bad for the seller who won't be receiving a payment, which is against the law. Btw, it's currently 3:17 AM in Texas on a Sunday night which shows how much commitment I have to this since I'm losing sleep over it.

Again, if anyone could help me that would be doing me a great favor. You have my promise that I won't steal your financial information, and we can be in correspondence any time afterward if an issue comes up. If you think you can help, please email me at hkimxi[at]gmail[dot]com. Thank you very much.

there's better ways to do this, i don't think many people are going to risk this method. you should discuss it with someone willing to help you. I'm sure you would be able to work out a lot safer method.

Yea I know the method I have up there ^^^ is pretty stupid, but it was all I could think of in my desperation. Luckily Raptor vvv has a better method and I'm just waiting on his next email.

And yeah, I'm not gonna register my bank details in his account, there are other ways of paying the seller. You don't have to use Yahoo Kantan Kessai. The seller also accepts bank transfers from Japanese banks.

If I remember correctly, international wire transfer carry a commission and wire transfer fee. The flat fee alone will likely outweigh the auction purchase price. The original poster can inquire at his local bank for the applicable fees.

As I see it, it's probably simpler to let the auction go unpaid. The seller would probably leave a negative review on the auction account for non-payment but it's no loss since the account was created for this auction. Then, once the seller re-lists the item, engage a deputy service to bid on it.

I have a bank account in Japan so that fee doesn't apply to me. but yeah, it's true it can be left with no real loss to the buyer apart from a bad rating.

Next time, use a proxy service like goody-japan. These services will help bid and buy the things for you that need a Japanese shipping address. (^.^)
