mobip Yoshika---WTF is going on?
What gives? Anyone here have the ear of Aoshima's mobip division? Or any best guesses?

Okay, I don't think I'm the only one who's wondering about this. I was never a big fan of mobips (They cost nearly the same as figmas but look like utter crap), but was actually excited to see the prototype of Strike Witches Yoshika being made, since the prototype looked like it had a proper headsculpt (i.e. like in the anime, or Humikane Shimada's designs).
Actar already posted a thread with this:

Then I saw the production photos in Dengeki Hobby...and much dry-heaving was heard. Was totally convinced NOT to buy the Yoshika figure...(See again Actar's phots)

But now, I've just been to Amiami (to buy those Kamen Rider BLACK figures before they sell out again), and lo and behold, Amiami shows photos of YET ANOTHER Production Yoshika Mobip, with a differently-sculpted head that isn't as good as the prototype, but heaps better than the one shown in Dengeki.
Will the real mobip Yoshika please stand up? At this rate, I don't even know if this will be a good buy or a bad one, because I'm seeing different qualities of headsculpt design, and all seem to be the production version...

Prototype. As can be seen, she has a great sculpt and look to her face, almost show-accurate.
And here we have Dengeki's production version photos. They all look...mobip-ized. Just awful.
Not as good as the prototype headsculpt, but WAY better than the Dengeki-shot production version. THIS, I might buy, but is this the REAL production version?
Hm... I don't know about the final quality, but I'm definitely getting this figure due to the fact that's she's the cheapest, poseable Yoshika figure out there.
Base looks great though...
I can't see the difference between the prototype and the final. I also really like the base, so I'll probably be buying this.
hopefully they do something about the armpit/shoulder joint because it's quite distracting imo.
Actually, hat might be a hidden swimsuit! Looks like her uniform is cast-offable!
Hmmm you know what I didn't even think about that and if that is the case then hmmm never mind they can keep it that way^_^.
Hmmm I think Mobip actually did a pretty decent job on this figure and she does look pretty accurate imo and that base is really awesome looking. It seems like I just might be picking up yet another Mobip figure in the near future. Tho I do hope they fix that shoulder joint or at least make it all white inside instead of the black.
Why does her pantsu look like a thong? I hope Max Factory does a figma version. Now that would be worth getting.
I'll wait for the Figma's, if any >.>..
Mobip is ugly like Q-joy =x
That's the thing--I never liked mobips, but the prototype shots really looked promising. Then the Dengeki shots turned me off, then last night Amiami has pretty nice photos of the figure.
This is probably a case of I'll wait to see it in person before I buy, but the chances of that happening (especially now that mobip K-On buyers got burned, what with figma K-On versions) is slim.
I'm also kind of floating the theory that Aoshima-mobip decided to redo the head after Strike Witches fans saw the ugly "mobipized" head and threatened them with bloody murder (Feb Dengeki issue came out December). But that's just me.
Worst case scenario is that different Yoshika mobips will have different quality heads. (ugh)
I like the way they design the fan. Its like it's really move! ( ´_ゝ`)
That's easy. Clear plastic discs, painted as is they have moving propellers. It's nothing special--all the previous Strike Witches statuettes/figurines (not including the gashapons) all have them.
*laughs*
Pre-ordered mine. I'll give it a review when it arrives.
Photos if you can, with the review?
