GN-001:RE Exia Repair
Ok, here's my entry for the Gundam Giveaway. It's Exia seen in the first ep of season 2 of Gundam 00. I just finished this today, just in time xD
This is the 1/100 Exia, NOT the Master Grade. It is the kit that I'm the most proud of at the moment. One reason being that this is the first gundam kit that I did a heavy mod on. The other reason is because it looks bad-ass!
Here are a few things that i did to the kit:
- Emptied half of the face and scratch-built the right side of the face
- Modded the knee joint to resemble what it looks like in the anime and line-art of the Exia Repair
- Filled gaps with epoxy putty
- Damaged sword
- Cape made from a 100% cotton Hugo Boss t-shirt (People ask me about it specifically on this lol)
- Used straightened paperclips to "strengthen" the cape
Everything is painted using Gunze paint, then weathered, and flat coat on top. Shadowing technique was used on all the colours, though some more obvious than others. Now, without further ado, here's the

Very nice job on battle damage and the colouring. I love the shadowing techniques used. Although there is one thing that puts me off, the unusually smooth right knee.

from first glance i know it's not an MG, because the MG would't look so nice.

Amazing mod! The battle damage looks sick, my favorite would have to be the sword and face, job well done^^
Holy craaaap. Why is it that damaged mecha always look so much more impressive and intimidating?
Because of the battle scars? It shows battle experience and wear, I guess. XP

totally loving the shadowing/shading/weathering being done for this kit
and most importantly it REALLY resembles the repair exia from the anime :D
if theres *POSSIBLY* anything that can be improved, id say, the red LED on the damaged eye. totally terminator/menacing style and it was shown in the anime too XD

1) There was very little space and
2) I don't know how to wire LEDs T_T

why did't ya put red LED or put a laser LED at the eye of exia or put some broken wire, it will put moar and up the level of realism.
up forget , just put some mini LED like the keypad phone used.
The modification to the head is great :) I'm jealous of your skill ;P
Some amazing work. Only gripe is that some of the white armour seems too 'clean' - quite an inspiration.

Even the blue is supposed to be a bit darker
