Saber Gundam Launch!
"Are you my meister?"
I humbly enter my Saber Gundam for the figure.fm Gundam Giveaway. This is the most work I've done on a Gundam model kit. Never have I painted or top coated a Gundam, yet I dare myself to do this over ambitious work that I do not have the skills for.
Self-deprecation aside... This was something I've wanted to do ever since I saw the Saber Gundam picture that was floating around on DannyChoo.com. I was waiting for someone to actually make it, but no one came forward with it. So I took it upon myself to make one because as a Saber fan I need to honor her somehow ^^;
After 14 hours in the span of 3 days, I finally finished the original Saber Gundam. Recently I modified it a little with extra paint, and topcoat. Unfortunately I messed it up a little because of my inexperience with topcoat...
Care to guess what parts of which gunpla went into this creation of this one? Look at the cheat sheet if you don't wanna guess ^^;
Progress report: Day 0, Day 1, Day 2 & Day 3... and finally the project is complete.

I used a page from the Fate/stay night Visual Collection book. Collected pictures from the Megami magazine.
I was trying to copy the pose from the original picture below.
The one that started it all... I tried to make it similar... but it's very different how 2D and 3D can work... Maybe if I was a better modeller.

Circa September 2008. This was before I modified it this week. This view is to show the design on the chest. I tried to make it similar to the design on Saber's armor.
Circa September 2008. I had a problem with her back skirt. I was using a cheap First Grade Gundam piece to make it, but even with glue it didn't stay on... so it fell out of her butt often. Instead of worrying about it too much, I made lemonade out of that lemon; by making her skirt into a shield ^_^

Fron the first pic, I see Zeta gundam arms and a gaia gundam chest and possibly head. I'll need a few more pics to guess the rest tho...
Scrap that. Right, Zeta gundam Arms, Gaia Gundam chest. Zeta waist, generic seed HG thighs (but for arguments sake, we'll say strike gundam), Strike gundam shield for front, 2 blaze zaku shields for sides, Blaze zaku lower legs and, I think, Gaia gundam head.
The head is the only thing I'm not sure about. will need to check the cheat sheet later...
I think that's a Zaku Warrior's torso...
hmm, you may be right about that one, but did the CE zaku always have that oversized collar?

OK, Got it. And no cheating either! Using Yunamons suggestion, there are 3 kits used in the kit. all 1/144 scale HG.
Duel gundam: Thighs, front skirt/shield & head
C.E Zaku: lower legs, torso, side skirts/shields
Zeta Gundam: arms, pelvis
Wow impressive! Although a bit different variation of Duel & Zaku, you got it right pretty much :D

I think this has more to do with the fact that "I" was not prepared to see a gundam representation of Saber.
Ah gotcha ^^ I really wanted to make it because I haven't seen anyone make it.

Funny you said that because the server move changed one of the pictures into a Dollfie holding 2 bare chests for a while there ^^;
