Asuka and Rei (Kotobukiya)
Its been AGES since I last posted here! But then again its been a long time since I last had enough time to take pictures of figures. I'm using my home made light tent here, but I have a real one on the way. Still working on getting my lighting better, I'll get there.
Asuka compliments Rei’s pose pretty well. I bought Rei first for a GREAT price (miss you Kotobukiya USA!)and Rei was great as a stand alone figure, but I really love them as a set now. The contrast in their poses and expressions is nice. I love that Asuka seems to be striking a model’s pose with the beginnings of a smile on her face. Rei looks serene, tragic, and beautiful. Although I forgot to dust Rei before these pictures, so you might notice that a bit. I kind of decided to take pictures of Rei as an afterthought since Asuka is one of my recent hauls.
One of my favorite aspects of these figures are their bases. These 1/6 scale beauties manage to take up very little shelf space because of how small their bases are. Plus also I think the bases look GREAT! I only like large bases when they have a lot of details that compliment the figure, these ones are small and highly complimentary. They really cradle the figures well, I have no worries that they will fall off them.
Although if you get real close to the figures with your camera you begin to notice some flaws with the paint, but I still like them quite a bit.

@ YzGuy - These are my most true Asuka/Rei figures. By "true" I mean they're my only figures of them in plug suits.
You can still get Kotobukiya figures for the US price if you wait and look around a bit. I managed to get her for a reasonable price.
I really like this set. They make a great pair and compliment each other. Koto did an excellent job! :)

I have both as well! Though I had made plans to get the Misato one as well but when I saw it, it didn't appeal to me enough though......should I have gotten it?
