Here's my amateur attempt to create a mascot/character. (^w^'
No, I'm not an illustrator, just an anime fan who likes to draw... for fun, if nothing else.
This is also my first time to seriously draw something using software (Gimp).
Feedback is appreciated. v(^_^

I originally created her thinking the theme was "cosplay" (for Otacool2).
I just discovered I misunderstood as I was re-reading the rules post right now.

Name: Yuumi Musou
Concept:
Since I thought it was about cosplay, I intended to design a cartoon mascot using a
masquerade mask. More than a change of costume, masks traditionally symbolize
a change in personality. Although not all cosplays involve a physical mask, all
cosplays should involve a change in who you are "being" at the moment.

In any case, I had a hard time designing a cartoonish mascot out of a masquerade
mask, so I placed it on a typical beautiful anime body instead. ^_^

Note that the eyes are drawn on the mask itself (i.e. vs. seen through eye holes).
You can think of it as a mask with a girl's body, instead of girl wearing a mask.

I intentionally did not put much detail on her body costume, since I wanted the focus
to be on the mask. Although admittedly, the mask could use a bit more...
"beautification." Sorry, it's the most I could do in 2 days (I'm on vacation right now).

I was also thinking that the mask design can also double as a logo or icon for the
Otacool cosplay line.
