need some help

Hello guys, I am working on a hguc hinu right now. I made a big cannon like the pic above, and off course, a battery is too heavy for a model kit, so I have to find another material.
I searched a stationary store, hoping to find any pens to match the size, but still couldn't find any. I'm surprised that out of that many many pens and markers, I still couldn't find it.
Will go to another stationary store to give it a try again, but I might also ask for help here ^^
Any suggestions what to use to replace the battery?
Thx b4 ^^

Try an empty chapstick.
aha, chapstick! will try that one, thx ^^
actually that's the best choice possible, but how to empty it?
Perhaps some homeopathic medecine doses.
um...what's a homeopathic medicine?
Try an XL sized straw from a supermarket or somewhere XD
i guess you could try a large straw..^^
maybe something like the straw used on bubble tea..:D
I think a straw is too thin for use; it's also a different kind of plastic. The only way that would work is if he filled the straw with putty, by then it's be better if he just scratch-built it out of putty.
@rusinstein & fi
hm....I think straw is not rigid enough, but I will give it a try also. You never know until you try ^^
thx!
Check a local hardware store, if they have PVC pipe in that size.
Failing that, you can buy some thin polystyrene rod or plate:

- Should find them in most good hobby stores.
If you can't find the diameter you need, you can get the thin flat plate (0.020mm thick), wrap it around the battery, and then cement it so that it will take the shape of that battery.
If that still doesn't work for you, get the diameter of the battery, and then put epoxy putty (Apoxie or Milliput) or Polyester Putty around your pen casing. When it dries, sand it to the desired diameter then superglue it to your gun mount.
thx for the suggestions.
Will try evergreen, hopefully they have the size I want.
Making a tube out of plaplate, sanding epo putty into a cylinder, I think I'll skip that, don't have that much skill >.<
Not into, around. Basically use your pen as the 'center', and put the putty around it. Obviously works best if you have a lathe machine--but if you had one, you wouldn't need our advice ^_^;;; I've not done it, but a friend has. He basically mixes the epoxy putty together, then flattens it out so that he 'wraps' it around the cylinder.
I'd recommend checking out the Hardware store or a place where they sell refrigeration piping; I used to work with a friend installing Airconditioners, and there were a lot of excess piping (metal and plastic) he throws away that I picked up for random use. One is a plastic drainpipe that is approximately the size you want (AA battery size), so it might be worthwhile. Hell, they may even be throing them away for all I know.
hm....I see. Ahh you guys really give me a lot of ideas. Thx!!
Try using empty or used gundam parts or any pla plate.Box type or edge type weapons are much more good looking than any barrel type.Make your weapon synchronized or look exactly like your gundam model.HI nu is an edge type gundam so I think pair it with an edge weapon/gun.besides you have to worry about the weight.pla plates are more lighter...just a suggestion...
Thx for the suggestions. You even suggested an edge weapon, hahaha, thx!
This cannon is meant to replace the bazooka.
oh, a bazooka..didnt think about that.I thought it was a rail gun...keep building...!
wooden dowels of any diameter should be found at most craft stores, or try the really stiff blue modelers foam cut to size and a thin coat of putty. The green foam used for flower arrangements might work the same way...
wooden dowel..hm...will give it a try too.
thx!
You can use this tutorial , isn't for weapon but it works. It's not in English but you can see the images, [link=http://www.plastimodelismo.org/revista/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=57:construindobarris&catid=40:artigosdioramas&Itemid=58]here[/link]
link fail xD
Hmmm....why not make a resin replica of a battery? ^^
Depends on how much he's willing to spend. I don't know about Indonesia, Malaysia, and the like, but I used to work as a computer programmer in the Philippines and I couldn't afford to buy silicone moulding and resincasting materials...
for now I'm trying to make it as light as possible, so I'm trying to find something hollow ^^
