Need some help
Hi there.
Recently, I've become a father.
My first ever daughter is DDy Mai.
As for all inexperieced parents, I'm currently facing problem of taking care of my child.
Mai is an obedient girl. I got nothing to blame for her appearance.
But something doesnt seem quite right. A part of her wig inflates abnormally. I try to fix it by pulling some ends of her pony tail but it doesnt work. Her ponytail is tied tightly.
This will ruin her image and I won't be able to fulfill my responsiblity as a bad father.
Anyone has the same trouble ? (fellows who have ponytail wigs for their daughters)
I see that some of you are experienced in taking care of family
I need some advice from senior parents.

Sorry for poor resolution images.

I dont think its inflated as much as it looks like someone just tied to pony tail badly. I think your only solution would be to take her pony tail down are redo it or keep pulling on the ends on her pony tail to possibly get the bubble out, or then again, maybe its supposed to look like that, but Im not really sure, so just keep trying to fix it if you wish. Hope I helped! oh, and congrats on your daughter. Shes beautiful! ^^
Thank you for your advice. Her tail is tied tightly by dense loop of threads and I cant take it out. Up to now, my only solution is pulling her tail.
If you got her directly from Volks, you can try sending them pictures and asking for a replacement--some people had issues with Yoko's wig, and Volks did replace the wig.
If you got her second-hand, or if Volks says they can't replace it, your best bet is to dismantle the wig and put it back together. If my research on ponytailed/pigtailed wigs is correct, then this wig probably should have been stubbed and wasn't. As a result, the best way to fix it would be to stub it yourself. Here's a tutorial on stubbing: http://www.katiebair.com/wigtutorial_stubbing.html What you do with the tail portion is make a weft out of it and then wrap it around the stub. If you're confused, ask people for close-up photos of Yoko's and Fate's wigs; they were properly stubbed. (Nanoha's wasn't though.)

That's an awesome tutorial about stubbing! :D
Thank you for great tutorial. But It looks desperate to me to cut off part of tail
From my experience with Volks wigs, most of them don't use techniques like stubbing. I have quite a few twin tales that are just tied with a string. Some of them might be stubbed or done with a similar technique like Yoko's wig and Konomi's wig to create extra volume... but I don't think it's easy to reproduce that technique on a 1/3 scale. The less you touch your ponytail or twintail wig, the better it stays in place. ^^
Fate's was definitely stubbed too. I think if you're careful, stubbing at 1/3 scale should be possible, if maybe a little tedious. It'd be worth it for how much nicer it looks--and how much longer it stays looking nice too.
From looking at Mai's wig, it looks like her ponytail was not tied tightly enough. If you just got her from Volks, I would email them and ask if a replacement is possible.
If not I would carefully undo the string that holds the ponytail and rety it with an elastic as tightly and neatly as possible. I have some twin tail wigs from volks that got loose after I handled it too much and retied it and it was fine. To rety the wig, you will need to have it stick in place on the head using a lot of wig stopper, and it would help if someone else holds her body while you tie the hair back. Good luck.
It's difficult to tell from these picture what happened, have you pulled the wig all the way down?
