HLJ January Loot

Posted by Djibril

Konnichiwa everyone!
I confess, this is the very first time I order something on HLJ and I'm very happy with this experience!
The shipping was quite quick,it take 9 days to arrive here (and in Italy dispatches are very slow!).
Shipping costs are more or less an half of the money I spent, but I was prepared...
It's an experience that I'm going to do again in the near future, mainly because some figures are never going to arrive in Italy!!

I started out buying most of my stuff from HLJ, but lately they've become a last resort. Their prices just can't compete with AmiAmi, and they can be a bit slow at getting/sending stock compared to AmiAmi and Hobby Search.

I don't know AmiAmi but I take a look at Hobbysearch and I'm thinking to buy something on it,just to try...
Anyway for me there's no big difference to buy something on HLJ or HS,because the more expensive things are shipping cost and custom duty,in the end I don't think it change so much...Probably you can see the difference 'cause you're closer to Japan!!

AmiAmi, being the biggest online store in Japan, has UNBELIEVABLE discounts. At an average of 10 - 25 percent off on all figures, new or old, their prices are really, really, really, hard to beat.

I've only had one order with AmiAmi so far and had some trouble with shipping. It's hardly their fault though, something must have been happening with USPS. Strange thing was, it arrived at the same time as a shipment from HLJ, which went out 3 weeks later... >.<

Agreed. Shifted most of my orders from HLJ to AmiAmi. The only bad thing about AmiAmi, is that they don't have a user friendly order system/layout like HLJ and won't accept cancellation of orders.

I know what you mean. I like that with HLJ they just charge me automatically through PayPal because it means my order ships as soon as possible. With AmiAmi I have to wait for their email then manually make the payment. Still, that's a minor concern as their service is exceptional and their prices are, as you say, unbelievable.

HLJ is the best for me talking about ordering figures (I did never ordered from AmiAmi) and of course that I recommend it to all of you, hobby fans.

And about this loot, an impressive one. Congratulations!

I keep away from HLJ, mainly because they are slow in putting up pre-orders. For example, Max Factory actsta: Teana Lanster is available for pre-order at HobbySearch on 27 Jan. HLJ has it for pre-order on 30 Jan.

Since pre-orders for the actsta figure are still available, there is no problem shopping at either site. However, if it's a popular figure like Max Factory figma Kotobuki Tsumugi, whose pre-orders are all sold out in both HobbySearch and AmiAmi very quickly, I might be screwed if I were to wait for HLJ. At least if I can't put in a pre-order at HobbySearch, I can look elsewhere immediately.

HobbySearch has served my requirements ably so far, but I've moved my pre-orders to AmiAmi recently.
