Hi guys ^^
This is my figure collection.
Still learning how to do the figure photography.
so, what do you think? :)
need some advice.

#1 , #2, #3 are Range Murata figures collection

Shoko-san - KOTOBUKIYA

Edge Maverick - Enix

Nonnon - Labo

Nice collection... and if you're just starting on figure photography then you're starting from a high level. I love the first and third shots in particular. The first is great with its short focus, really brings the viewer's eye onto the figure's face and torso area. The soft, muted colours give it an almost vintage look wich is fantastic.
The third photo... well I'm just a sucker for black and white work. Besides that it's got good contrast and the lighting really helps bring out the form of the figure. Again it also had a good sense of foreground and background.
The fourth photo however I feel looks a little flat compared to the other two, both colour wise and in composition. Not quite sure how to remedy it though... maybe play with the colour-balance a bit to make it feel a little less dead?
I'm torn on the fifth photo though. I like the colours and high-contrast... but the placement of the sword is bugging me. It possibly bissects the image a little too much?
Either way, I look forward to seeing more :D
for the 5th photo, the sword is always moving downward, i think the joint isn't strong. so it's the best that i could handle for that pose >.<
Thx Al, i'll try to make better photographs & i'll also notify you for the result ^^
I look forward to it :D
Hmm, if the sword's always falling could you use a bit of fishing line or something out of shot to hold it up maybe?
*Reads later comments: so you're using a manual-focus lens? Awesome.
wow! nice idea, thx!
i'll try it, but better find any string first ^^
yup i use that, thx a lot ^^
they are cheap yet produce a good tone :)
tommorow i'll try to photograph my figma haruhi, holding a Saber-excalibur.
i'm very interested to see the result Lol
Nice stuff! Your figure photography is amazing! I really love the effects you've used on them, especially the first one! That one's definitely my favorite.
What sort of filters are you using? Is there a tutorial? Or did you use one of the actions that people on deviantart have posted?
And in the black and white pic, who's that in the background? Reminds me of The Beatles! :D
Thx a lot :D
umm..i don't use filter for all of them, for the first one i use a SOLIGOR 28mm analog lens, and plug it in to my DSLR using a lens converter, dunno why, but everytime i use that lens,it always give me a vintage-like tone.
i took this photo in the afternoon about 4pm outdoor, the black fence on the BG is my house fence ^^
i put this figure up on a chair and do a low angle shoot.
i edit this photo a little in PS for cropping & increasing the sharpness, because this lens focus isn't really good and i have to do the manual focus also XD
that one in the B&W pic BG is also murata figure,he is in the same figure set as the one in front of him
i buy them for 1 set consisting of 5 different figure, but i forgot the set name as i already throw up all of the the box.
>.<
Very nice pictures!
The colours are gorgeous.
thx a lot ^^
3rd photo is pretty awesome! Range Murata figures are so very nice too ^^
