Syaoran's Room 4th Iteration

Posted by Syaoran [www]

This redesign has been done for a while now but I've been to busy to post it. I've changed the layout of my place so many times. I'm sure there will be one more change before I move out.^^; I have a feeling most will like iteration 3 but I didn't like having the detolfs in front of the window (which is always covered...no sunlight is let in!)

I'll start off with images of the previous versions. Can anyone point out the major changes/losses? I will give one hint, I have not thrown away any figure boxes (feel free to guess where all 250+ boxes are but know this, I don't have any specific storage room). There is one major disappearance though ^^

Surprisingly all the reactions have been the same. Best friend already knows what to expect. Dad liked it which was probably the most surprising comment ever. Mom hated it (not surprising). Two classmates were interested in it and never once thought I was into anime from seeing me in class. Maintenance guy loves it. Postal Employees either don't care or like it.

Haven't got any interesting reactions so far (except the one from my Dad lol). Still trying to get my siblings to visit as I know they will give interesting reactions.

      The wall scroll I got back in 2000 at the San Diego Comic Con. One of the posters is from Newtype(Sakura, Tomoyo, and Meiling). The other two posters(Sakura Witch and Syaoran/Sakura) are on special matting and I got those in 1999, only 1000 of each were made. Forgot where I got them exactly ^^;

Oh I am, didn't you notice one of the major disappearances? ^^
I still have 5 months to go and most of my stuff isn't going over with me initially Probably just the two dollfies and a handful of figmas at first. Kept all my boxes for a reason XD

Detolfs/Bed are the only furniture I'll be selling before I move. Desk and papasan go to parents.

Guess I didn't... ^.^;; You have so much stuff, it's hard to notice when a couple things disappear. I have no idea what I'd do if I have to pack things up and move. I have the boxes for everything I've purchased since moving to NC, so only a handful of items would have to go less protected.

Very nice, its rooms like this that make me re-think about using Detolf cases myself. But I'm pretty happy with my shelves. I like being able to fill up the whole wall with figures.

You do a good job making sure eveerything in your collection has space, as someone who crowds everything together I admire people who display their collections that way.

I put off getting a detolf at first because I didn't like the gap. However I eventually took the plunge and learned how to make them dust-resistant and since then I've loved them. Since they are cheap it makes things easier too XD Someday I'll eventually get fully sealed display cases and make a museum ^^

All that stuff makes the room have a nice vibrant color. ^ ^

I aim towards making my room like that one day.

Thanks! Although it's not where I want it. I need better frames (aka custom ones that perfectly fit the poster) and better display cases (aka completely sealed ones with good lighting). There is one member here who has a display case that eventually I want, with a few modifications of course ^^

Figures alone are 15K. Add up DVDs, Magazines, Cels, other nicknacks and it's about 40K+

The IKEA Detolfs? A different brand?

IKEA Detolfs ^^ Love em! When I get a house though I'll probably have fully sealed wall displays with lights and stuff ^^

        Thought so!

I was going to have a wall cabinet designed and built for my room, an L shape with glass sliding doors and glass shelves.

Though now that my dad's going to be moving out of the garage-converted-studio, I'll be going in there! :D
Means that I can buy existing furniture, and not have to fit it in my tiny room XD

IKEA has many different display cases but the DETOLFs are the cheapest. They serve their purpose and don't kill the wallet while leaving more funds for figures ^^

Man, man o man, you can easily achive 360 nanofate vision with no problem. With that room you can have 1080 nanofate vision. I'm working on that at the moment and will update my room someday, but man, awesome. Also i like the Konata and Kagami on the bed, where did you get that. So awesome gotta have that yuri everywhere!!!
