RX-78-2 Ecopla Black Gundam
I got this Ecopla at Odaiba on my recent trip to Japan and decided to try some things on him since he was only 1000 yen. I think the end result isn't so bad but could have been way better. I had some problems with the coating due to the extreme humidity we have right now and had to paint some parts again and let them uncoated. And you can see lots of nub marks as I'm very bad at hiding them... I have some sand paper but without proper primer or paint my sand paper leaves ... sand paper marks! At least I learned a few things and had lots of fun building it. It's mostly a HGUC made from recycled runner pieces witch is a really good idea and it's a cheap one too!! Didn't have enough space in my luggage to bring more stuff but if I had the chance I would've bought more of these guys... Feel free to share any opinions and advices!! Thanks!

Used some spare decals from MG RX-78-2 ver.kA

Very early build for proportions and articulations. (it was my first HGUC...)

Screwed the face a little...very lame. Wanted to leave it that way but decided to finish it.

Almost done. No coating yet.

Some action shots. We can see the bad coating on a few spots on the shield and hips. Repainted all the chest area.

Small family shot of recent projects and loot. In the back the 30th anniversary Odaiba stuff and in the front, on the left, Deathscythe Hell in progress.

The black trio of hell!! Guess the intruder! Thank you Danny for providing tips on that HLJ deal for Soundwave! Wanted that thing for 2 years now! Had some problems getting it when it first came out...(and even before...)

Ecopla!!
Its made out of recycled plastic or something, right?
How different was it from the usual gunpla?
It's actually the same as the normal HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam but all the runners are black due to the recycled plastic. It's perfect for testing techniques and special painting since it's very cheap. (about 10$USD)
