K-ON Fandom : why.
Looking back on the Anime I watched previously, K-ON is the most perplexing one of them all. It has a paper thin story, supported by characters whose most redeeming traits are their moe-ness. I always wondered why I really got into the series. I'm sure this reason why we love this show so much differs form person to person, but after season 1 ended, i kinda forgotten that reason. I got reminded why I like this show so much after watching episode 14.

Really for me it's all about Music and the K-ON Club's journey to different events/situation. No K-ON's music is not OMG !@#$ing brilliant, but as an aspiring (and failing too ^-^;;;;) musician theres this special feeling i get when i see them rehearsing or performing live.

Having cute characters to help portray this doesn't hurt it too ^_^
Wondering whether you guys would like to share why u like k-on for.

not used to the posting system yet OTL sigh. do you guys know how to have the text first before the pic?
Nope, i tried to figure that out before :( And gave up. Anyway. I think i like K-ON the same reason.. the moe-ness keeps me entertained, and especially Yui when she does spontaneous things. Like apologizing to her glove! that was epic.
haha yea yui is love, not to mention imba guitar skills >.<
But i still prefer azunyan though =3
It is the same reason for me. It is mainly because of the music.
I like to see them doing live acts. Sure the story is thin but that was obvious from the start.
So for me it is the music and Mio that save the series from evil XD
haha mio fan huh? she does have very nice bass skills @_@
Esp in DSL
I think its popular because it really reflects how some kids get into clubs and why they stay. These girls aren't like the characters in Beck but after they get together and realize they like being with each other, they decide to be a little more serious about playing music. Strikes me as quite realistic.
I heard of Beck, but never gotten on to watching it. recomended?
If you read, I recommend Beck manga first...

haha not too fond of manga XDD will consider though!
Personally , The First few Episodes of K-ON! was great but after that it starts to get a bit boring ( I even yawned at some parts of K-ON! ) .
After , K-ON! introduced Azusa , K-ON! starts to get interesting again . The Music was great and The Animation is just very High Quality . Thoroughly , I enjoyed the Journey of their band but some parts of K-ON! needs to have more Comedy instead of more Moe like Lucky Star .
personally i wish for a very different K-ON from you, sure comedy and all is fine but story's most important for me.
that reminds me i need to finish lucky star OTL
Lucky Star is indeed the holy grail of Slice-Of-Life Animes in my opinion. The very first 'real' Anime I watched, Lucky Star captured my heart with it's charming characters, quirky jokes and Konata-ness. Pure joy to watch.
I don't mind Moe in the slightest unlike SOME people (I'm looking at you Destroy All Podcasts DX) and will never let it ruin a show for me. Honestly, it's just a stylistic decision and I never judge a show based on that, ala Sora no Woto.
K-On! for me is all about the music, charm and characters. (^.^)
The magic of K-On!, like any slice-of-life Anime, be it Lucky Star, Manabi Straight!, etc... is the characters and humor. For me, K-On! is an Anime that I can just watch to unwind. There are no convoluted story lines, busy and adrenaline pumping action scenes that require focus or anything like that.
I'm a Yui fan through and through. Her charm, innocence and downright enthusiasm for life is so sweet and honestly, even encouraging.
Another thing that K-On! has going for it is it's awesome music. As with Macross 7, great music can make a series for me and Fuwa Fuwa Time did it, along with Cagayake Girls, Don't Say Lazy, Curry Nochi Rice, Watashiwa Koi wa Hochi Kiss, etc... All great songs that I continue to listen to over and over again.
While Lucky Star will be my favorite slice-of-life Anime period, K-On! comes at a close second.
haha looks i have much to learn >< id un consider K-ON or lucky star to be slice of life, too comedic IMO >.< lol. But yea the music, esp the ep and ed for K-ON still draws me to this day =D
I don't know why fandom is so obsessed lately trying to figure out why something is popular.
It's just a good show with good characters. If you like it I don't understand why you need to pull it apart to try and understand why it is good. Just enjoy watching it.
I mainly just love the characters Yui and Ritsu they are fun :)
Music? Yes, music! I also love the daily life of these four friends and their junior...
