Sayoko's Room

Posted by Sayoko [www]

* Nickname: Sayoko
* Age: 23
* How many years you have been an otaku: I grew up watching anime and reading manga so I can't exactly pin-point it. I started as an anime collector (LDs, Tapes, VCDs, DVDs, finally Blu-ray), then manga, then trading cards, then posters, then CDs, then randomized small trading figures, then high quality figures...
* Nationality: Chinese Canadian of HK descent
* Outline of your collection: Figures and manga.
* How much your collection cost: Probably a lot.
* Your fave item: My Rabi (Seiken Densetsu) cushion pillow and Yagami Hayate figure that I brought overseas personally on board the plane as hand carry. :>
* Your website address: http://kidd.nu
* Anything else you want to say: Quality over quantity any day.

General stuff about my room: It was originally plastered with posters but when I had a room overhaul and decided to keep more white. It makes the room less busy for me (since it's already filled with a crap load of stuff already!). If you look close enough, you can see remnants of tape and holes on the walls though. P:

Can you spot the ones bending over?

They're usually hidden but they're there - most of my pinky: st family.

I'm working on getting a real daimakura because the smaller one just doesn't seem the same! :0

CD and VCD racks. I also haven't made room for Sumika and Kasumi yet so there'll be there for the time being. Don't mind the little mess there... I have a thing for bags <_<;;

Ignis who was bending over due to the weight of her own boobs has been sent back to her box to face torture from the 2010 Olympic mascots :b. Also hanging there is my convention history.

Digimans and Pokemans.

So about that manga...

What's a bookshelf? All I need is a bed! P:

There's about 4, 5 rows now? I've stopped counting and just kept pushing them back. My booklist is available for viewing.

My desktop workstation. Unseen are piles of bags to the bottom left which are JP Newtype which gets boxed up about every year so it'll keep piling for now. More pinky: st. Also a collection of convention fans.

OMAKE: Video Games

The video games are in another castle... well another room.

I'm building this collection with my brother so I can't take all the credit.

    Nice collection. When was that Banpresto Rei Ayanami (w/ spear) got released? Haven't heard of that one... and want that Gloomy plush! Ordered 2 pcs revoltech Gloomy bear at a local hobby store.

      Thanks~ The Rei Ayanami with the Lance of Longinus was a Sega prize exclusive to Japan. I'm actually more of an Asuka fan but between her and the Asuka figure, Rei was just that much more gorgeous and completely won me over. Never seen such a hot Rei in my life. :D

      And yes! I need to get my hands on that Gloomy revoltech myself!

    Haha I know where to get that C.C dakimakura too. At least I know where it used to be sold ^^

    Hmmm... is it me or do some of those games look like they're unopened. Looks like we both got a thing for plastic bags around the room ^^;

      I've only seen the bigger daimakura version around locally (though I haven't been actively looking) but I chickened out and got myself the smaller size when I was at AX. Hm, would you still call the smaller body pillows daimakura too? Then are the big sizes dai-daimakura? P:

      Hahah you're right. I think more than 75% of the games are unopened. We collect faster than we have the time to play them. Not to mention you get suckered into preorder bonuses/exclusives/limited editions/fear of the game discontinuing.

      I was wondering why some of your stuff was still bagged. Haha makes sense now fellow bag, er, collector? X3

        I think any dakimakura with comparable sizes to your own or anything you can hug and roll around in is a dakimakura no matter the size XD Chibi-dakimakura perhaps? ^^;

        I don't have much time to play games either. I open them play for an hour or two and then forget about it... It would've been better to keep it sealed perhaps ^^; Yeah I know all about those bonuses... I did that for the Saber Lily figma, but really I haven't opened the game at all >.>

        LoL bag collector XD It keeps them dust free for a while until I can do something about them ^^;;;

        Oh yes, very stress relieving. When you see that smile, you can only a) smile back or b) punish it for being so happy when you're not. ^^;

    It is not easy for you to get the comic out deep under your bed LOL
