Nanoha Group Shots

I'm sure this'll get swallowed by wonfes stuff soon enuf, but just thought I'd post some group pics from my nanoha review.
In retrospect I think I should've aimed for a more landscape layout. The figures were spread out so much I needed way more dof than I could manage with my lens (without being overwhelmed by diffraction).
Then there was the issue of trying to light the whole thing, dealing with all the huge bases and generally trying to make it look good ^^;;

For group shots like these, you can't focus on everyone and some of them will inevitably be blur... Any pro tips on taking good group shots?
is to make your aperture smaller ( bigger number ) so the background doesn't get blurred. You need a stand for it though. ( for me atleast )
yeah, as drcow says, you can close up your aperture... also with a wider angle lens i think you could get everyone in focus and still have proper framing so i don't think it's inevitable that someone will be blurred. in my shots with f/11 i was almost able to get everyone in focus so it was pretty close. (and that's just a 50mm on a 1.6x crop body).
guess i shoulda mentioned i think i'm fairly well versed in the technical side of taking shots, it's more the composition, framing, etc. that i'm weaker at ^^;;
F/11? I usually have to set it to atleast f/16 for something that's less than an inch behind...

It's really cool to see everyone in a group in all their badassery like this. Scalietti better not come anywhere near them, or he's likely to get totally pwned!
now if only i had a nice custom base to arrange them in a more aesthetically pleasing configuration....
