Weekly Lily 55
Gokigenyou minna-san! I've been on a Strawberry Panic marathon recently. It's one of the premier yuri anime, but when it first came out I stopped watching at around fifth or sixth episode. Very unfortunate. However, I did promise I would finally watch it when it's all complete. Although the show slowed down quite considerably in the beginning, I was able to go through with it because I've had training... Maria-sama ga Miteru was that training. If I was able to watch that show twice in one day then I can watch Strawberry Panic no matter how slow it was!
Good thing too, I was enjoying myself as I watched this yuri classic. I was able to get through the slow parts and by the second disc, I was intrigued and I couldn't wait to see the ending! I was surprised right to the very end!
I'm in the process of writing a two-part post on this, but I'm running short on time and unable to finish it before the end of Sunday, so I will post these for you all as I finish up the first part. I hope these aren't spoilers ^^; EDIT: The Strawberry Panic introduction post is finally done. I'll do a major spoiler post next week and perhaps some people might want to join in and have a discussion ;)
Oh and these pictures may be NSFW for some :P
This is the first opening song and video.
This is the first ending song and video (very nice! Live action!)

Part 1

Part 2... Oh yeah!

Mmmm.. MMMMM~~ will watch this!! OP and ED are nice ^^
Apparently the animator/s from this show have been working on a hardcore yuri-OVA. You might want to look into it, it's called Sono Hanabira.
Oooh, great news! I have heard of that title before. It must be the one that Yi wrote about :D Thanks!
The only complain I have from this series is the attempt yuri rape at a certain arc... Otherwise it's full of concensual yuri actions... :P
I'll be writing about spoilers sometime next week. I wouldn't mind having your thoughts on that scene and several other scenes in the spoiler post ;)
I was also bothered by that scene and the main character always looks kinda predatory to me. I like Aoi Hana and Sasameki Koto better.
S.P. seems to have that humour as well, but it's got quite a mixture of maturity in it.
Hey Lighto-san!!! Long time no see ^^
I dislike SPanic o_O Yuri without much comedy made me tedious ~_~
Yoh Paiki! I see you on Twitter once in a while, but usually hours after you've said something XD
Hmm... well it did have some comedy but definitely not as much as say Sasameki Koto or Kanamemo, but I did like it's melodrama (which is not as thick as MariMite).
Atmosphere wise, MariMite is better... S. Panic is a little darker and more intense...
Well MariMite did have that dark atmosphere in the second season, but it's not as dark as S.P. They can be compared side by side, but completely different animals.
Strawberry Panic, one of my all time faves!
Shizuru x Nagisa = <3
For a moment, I was enjoying Tamao X Nagisa ^^;
I feel sorry for Tamao, she deserved more but always got the short straw when it came to the love stories. Nagisa and Tamao would have been a cute couple though^^
Just noticed my glaring mistake, doh!
I meant Shizuma and not Shizuru, although it has been a few months since I last watched this lol
I watched it back in the days when I deeply indulging in anime & was my first encounter with Yuri. At first I didn't know it was yuri-type of anime, I watched it because I'm a fan of Nakahara Mai ;-)
Ah I see. One thing leads to another XD
I'm pretty sure it was Sailor Neptune and Uranus that started me on this yuri path. Not quite sure what was the first mostly "yuri" anime I watched though... I'll have to look back later. S.P. may be the first one for me even though I didn't finish it before ^^;
The live action in the ED actually kind of surprised me. It's really nice though.
They really kissed in the full version I believe? Maybe even in the second one too. I was surprised as well. I don't think that's been done before.
