never order stuff from amiami too ... but usually if your good is shipped with costly postal service like FedEX, HDL or something like that and they found out that no one at home, they will call you via phone and ask you to get home as possible or they will blow up your home and take Mikuru away.
If you're using the standard post office .. well, they will kindly return Mikuru to Amiami ... (at least that's what the postman in Indonesia will do, maybe other country will take different measure? dunno ... )
btw, I was joking about the FedEX/HDL taking away your Mikuru :P
No no no, Indonesia Postal service does not do that (at least not do that right away)
If the postal dude found your house is empty, he will leave you an invoice in your mail box, or he just slip in under your door.
You have two weeks to claim your package in the post office before they return it to sender.
Forgot to add.
I don't know about other post office outside East Jakarta, but my post office always asking for a sign in every packages, regardless EMS, AirMail, SAL Registered, or SAL. So they will not leaving the package just like that.
ah, I see o.o ... guess I got the wrong info then. Its good to hear that the post office here is not as bad as I thought ^^
they're still bad though ... my arbalest box is squished badly, the arbalest itself is still in good condition though, but not the box T___T
Well, the mail here usually goes:
If you're at home, you get it.
If not, they'll try the neighbours to ask them to give it to you instead.
Unless you said no to that or the neighbours aren't there either, they'll try again the next day.
Still nobody there?
They'll leave a message that you can pick it up at a specified post office (Local one, mostly)
depending on your country post services.
For me is mostly:
1. They deliver it to the neigbours next door
2. They come the next day to try it again.
3. If Option 1 and 2 can't be done due to not being at home or the package needs to be signed, they leave it at the closest post office for 3 months or so and you will have a note saying that the package is waiting at that post office to be picked up.
If it's shipped with EMS or registered SAL they should take it back to your local postal office and either try to deliver it again or have you pick it up. Any kind of registered post requires a signature upon delivery, so the post officer can't just leave it on the doorstep if they're doing their job right. If it's regular SAL they may leave it on your door step.
If it got shipped out today as you stated it may take 2-3 days. In my case after paying for my item i got it on the 4th day.
As for receiving the package, If you gave out a contact number on your order then they'd be calling that. If not then kindly talk to one of your neighbors and ask them if they can receive the package in your behalf. Just keep in mind that you need to give them an item that certifies that you are allowing them to receive it so that the package can be left to them.
If worse comes to worse then you'd be picking your mikuru at the local post office under the EMS office.
wo thanks for the fast answers guise :D
mikuru will love you all now =w=
Huh, this question isn't limited to AmiAmi, but any online site as what happens to your package depends on your postal service.
Since you are from Singapore, like me, you shouldn't have any worries. I myself know the guy who delivers packages very well and he knows to leave my parcels on my shoerack whenever I'm not home. That's for EMS of course. (^.^)
Items that are sent via EMS from Japan to Singapore will arrive in exactly 3 days nearly 100% of the time.
LOL but i dont really know who the guy is D:
mines ems too.
but will they call me before leaving it on the shoerack(ya i have 1 outside too =w=)?
For EMS packages, the local postal worker will leave a card at your door if nobody is at home to sign for it.
The note will basically say they attempted to deliver your package. You can then call SingPost, or go to the SingPost website to either ask them to re-deliver, or send the package to a post office. Since nobody is at home during the day, picking it up from the post office after school would most likely be easiest.
Hm, I thought the card thing was only for SAL and Registered items?
I've received the card for EMS packages that failed to deliver. I've received it quite a few times, even during occasions when there are occupants in the house. The postal guy would knock so softly nobody knew he's there. Or he would have run off by the time someone answers the door. I like the previous guy better, who would yell "Postman!" at the door.
wow so there are different encounters :/
lol cos im prettay lazy to get my lazy butt to the post office,i think i shall see when i can get it redelivered :)
but thanks real informative guys :D
or befriend with postman and ask him to deliver a package anytime you want
Rape = not so funny. =[

SORRY DANNY AND GUISE v.v
Usually, if nobody's there to take it, they'll just leave you a notice either stating that they will try again tomorrow around a certain time, or that you have to go pick it up at the post office.
Well, being from the US, packages from Japan sent via EMS usually get taken back to the respective post office to await being picked up personally or getting the delivery re-scheduled and a notification slip is left at the house. I am certain is because you're required to sign for the package and with EMS comes tracking.
For one package sent via Priority mail from within the US, they just left the box right by the door... I was very shocked about this as anyone could easily just take my box. Not sure if that's regular procedure or if the mail man I had that day was just being lazy.
After that, I have all packages sent to my mom's workplace since deliveries are never made on the weekends and someone is always there to receive the mail during the weekdays.
