Journeys End. The Knight of Gold is Completed!!

Posted by GundamJehutyKai [www]

After over a year of false starts and procrastination, I have finally FINALLY finished one of my grail kits. Something I have wanted ever since I laid eyes on it's original design.
Here's the Knight of Gold from the Five Star Stories!!

If you want more pics and details, check out my blog.

If you suddenly have the urge to get a FSS kit yourself, Take my advice. DON'T!!!
Unless you've got some resin kit experience and am confident of your abilities then it's not worth getting one of these. They are HARD!!!!
Gundam kits don't even come close!

But if you think you can do it, then give it a try. If you complete it, you will be rewarded with some truly beautiful kits!

The KoG made me want to cry and scream "uncle" many times during the long build process but it's done now and I'm pretty happy with the result (either that or just finishing it, either way, I'm one happy bunny)

What does everyone else think?

Congradulations on putting all the pieces of this "monster" up together!! How many pieces were there? And how tall does it stand? Looks great!! I've always loved the chara and mecha designs in FSS, so beautiful.

you know? I'm not quite sure... *goes off and does a rough count*

I guesstimate around 96 individual parts all together and just to give others an idea, the next most complex kit was probably my bunny haruhi which clocked in at 40-odd parts in total. So yeah, quite the complex beast. She stands at 23cm from head to toe and roughly 29cm if you include the buster cannon.

I really feel tempted to do an empress of flame or machine messiah when wave release the kit. Then there's the LED mirage and a few other FSS kits which would be worth doing, not to mention the Volks Knight of gold with the Firing pose and the legendary Jagd Mirage. But for now, I'm going to take a long break from the FSS kit building and go back to doing something simpler.

You would think that, but each one has it's own issues and problems... But I don't fear any of the ones in my "to do" list like I did my Knight of Gold.

I'm looking forward to some simpler times!

I keep trying to tell people that it's not as hard as one would think. It's just getting over that confidence barrier.
I don't consider myself to be a particularly good painter but I enjoy it and am satisfied with the results. In the end, that's all that matters.

Yeah KOG is really awesome with the Buster Launcher, though Bang Doll is my favorite
So any plan working on another FSS kits in the future?

Actually, I have another knight of gold in my "to do" pile. The volks KoG with buster launcher. The one with the dynamic firing pose. If wave release it again, I'd definitely get the yen xing kit as well and if I could ever afford one, I'd get a 1/100 jagd mirage with buster cannons, just so I can say I have one!
