Actar in Akihabara

The first of possibly a number of videos, chronicling my experince in the land of Anime to Figures and beyond. (^.^)
What better way to start than to show you guys a snippet of my time in Akihabara - The fabled land of Otaku... (Day 1 and 2 of my trip)
This video focuses more on the stores of Akihabara and proves that Akihabara really is, Otaku heaven. I mean... WOAH. And that was just one store.
While the video only shows the inside of Radio Kaikan, more details of the places and the various stores I visited, like Gamers, Toranoana, Animate and more, along with accompanying pictures, can be seen over at my blog. (^.^)

I'm surprised how little had changed in terms of the shop signage in your first image from when I went in May 2008. As you leave the Electric Town exit from Akihabara station and turn right it's exactly as how I remember it (Onoden image straight ahead, big picture of the glasses on the Labi store lol). I think Gamers must have a new image because when I went they had a big picture of Konata advertising a Lucky Star PS2 game.
Wow! Sensory overload....I would just walk around stunned at all the goodies. Then I would try to talk the store owner out of the Evangelion statues and Urd, Belldandy, and Skuld for a fair deal.
Akihabara, that is the first place I dreamed to go when I visit Japan.
God this brings back memories for me too. Going back in two months and can't wait to get back there. Kaiyodo was an awesome store but I don't recall the Animate store being there before. Is it new? Best thing though is if you make a left and go down the tunnel instead of right to Radio Kaikan, there is a Mochi Cream store at the end of the tunnel with the most addictive treats on the planet.

Two more years...two more years >_< It's ok though. I need to save money up for that trip. I will just have to make dude with buying figures online for the moment.

Had a ton of footage, but selected just enough to squeeze into the song. Also went and explored the various stores, Nakano Broadway and even Animate's flagship store in Ikebukuro. Might compile a similar video again soon. (^.^)
